i received an email with the following information that is worth sharing.. the 2011 yearbook goes to great lengths to elevate the truthfulness of watchtower information in even minor details, and criticise information from other sources.

so it is telling that the 2010 "jehovah's witnesses - faith in action, part 1" has omitted an important element of their history when re-enacting the 1922 cedar point convention.. under the heading "tracing all things with accuracy" the 2011 yearbook states: .

"jesus said that the faithful slave would be discreet in giving the domestics "their food at the proper time.

I can see the photo much more clearly in the Jehovah's Witnesses Proclaimers book on page 259. The picture in the banner where it states King looks like Jesus. But the picture in the Proclaimers book seems to be slightly different from the one above. What is that tripod looking thing on the stage; is it a camera? That does not appear in the Proclaimers book. Also, can anyone make out what that round black circle in the D of ADV is?

No doubt about it, it was "Millions Now Living Will Never Die." See Jehovah's Witnesses-- Proclaimers of God's Kingdom on page 163 and 425-26. On page 78 it shows that there was a booklet by that name as well.

What is so intriguing about the message is that neither Rutherford, nor Knorr, nor Franz, nor any other JW leader or member has ever been one of the millions!

the ancient jewish cross by al garza phd is a groundbreaking book just published by createspace (isbn-13: 978-1461133896; april 27, 2011).. i'm about to order this book because it means a lot to me personally.

i was completely unaware of the history or meaning of ancient hebrew letter taw.

shaped like a cross and avoided by various jewish rabbi today due to its ties to jesus christ's death since his execution, taw is a pictorgraph used prior to babylonian captivity meaning "mark," "sign," "covenant," "seal," or more specifically, "sign, covenant, and seal of yhwh god" -- and fulfilled when jesus the messiah finalized the covenant on it through his blood so that we could have eternal life.. is the cross jewish or pagan?

If the Watchtower Society imagines that the stake or pole has no pagan connection, than they need to re-read the Old Testament.

On several occasions it speaks of the sacred poles or wooden stakes dedicated to the Canaanite goddess Asherah.

The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth - Matt 5:5 anyone?

on another thread concernedjw used an interesting quote from jesus at matt 5:5 'the meek shall inherit the earth.

' fair comment i'd say.

but jesus didn't say 'paradise' earth.. now i know some of you don't believe in the bible (which i respect), and i'm not after a debate.. what i'm interested to hear is how you would refyte that jesus was not talking about a jw 'paradise earth'.

Surely there were meek people in the time period the Old Testament was written. They did inherit the Promised Land. So, the passage was fulfilled.

Jesus was the meekest person who ever lived. He did not remain on the earth forever. He went and prepared a place for those who followed him that they would be with him where he was and it is not here! See John 14. These meek people were not looking to live here on earth forever. Actually, Heb. 12:22 shows they had their sight on a city, not on earth, but in heaven.

JW's are waiting for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven sometime in the future. Don't they know that God's love and will reigns in the hearts of His followers NOW whether they are on earth or in heaven?

this person had everyone list occupations/industries that would cease to exist in the paradise.

it's interesting how they think that everyone is going to turn into a carpenter, builder, farmer, etc.

they came to the rural black belt county of wilcox in alabama, in the year 1970. hailing from exotic places such as new york, new jersey, connecticut, and massachusetts, they were bright, articulate, and persuasive.. they said the end was close, that the year 1975 would probably be the farthest limit for the current "system of things.

" some of us believed them and embraced their theology wholeheartedly.

we wrote letters of resignation to our respective churches and hit the highways and byways, hawking the wt message to stunned families and friends.. 1975 came and went - nothing.
