  A straight boy may have a few fumbles with a girl. Unlikely a gay boy would have done that.

  Sometimes, in my haste, I write something stupid. Those two sentences prove it. Of course, a young gay man could have a fumble with a girl (some of them even marry girls), but not as a result of their own natural attraction.

  What I wanted to say, was that there is a certain social expectation that a young man (understood as heterosexual) will have some sexual experimentation with a willing girl, but I wanted to juxtapose that with the situation of young homosexual man. There would be no societal toleration of his sexual experimentation with another boy.

  That (in the past at any rate) likely made it difficult to gain some experience in who appealed to them and who did not.

  how do you prove that witnesses are indeed, false prophets?.

  Jesus predicted his own return within a generation. His prophesy failed.

  Doesn't that prove that Jesus was a false prophet?

  The early Christians expected the imminent return of Jesus.

  He did not return, doesn't that prove that the early Christians were false prophets also.

  The Jws have predicted the return of Jesus, having failed in their prophesy, they try to extend the thought of the generation teaching of Jesus by the illogical idea that multiple generations are still one generation.

  Stupid! and proof that they realise that their own prophesies have failed.

  OK, I understand and that's cool. We fight the same fight.

  I was going to use your comment to make a point.

  I think it can be argued that previous lack of social acceptance and the harassing of gay people by police made it difficult for them to build social communities, in which you could find long-term partners. As I understand the social data, fifty years ago, very few gay males lived together in long term relationships because it was difficult to stay under the social and legal radar.

  Also, the social mores were against them. An opposite sex attracted boy could (at that time) talk openly at school (even family), a gay boy would not have been able to do that.

  A straight boy may have a few fumbles with a girl. Unlikely a gay boy would have done that.

  For the gay boy, it was more likely that his first sexual experience would have been a furtive one at some gay beat, always in fear of the police. After a few years of that experience the hunt for sexual partners would have been ingrained.

  To sum it. The straight kid grows up in a society that expects that he will one day find sex, and hopefully love. The gay kid doesnt. Little wonder they now want their relationships valued.

  I cant compare to any groups in Australia, as government welfare is widespread. What about the USA? Are there still roughly 50,000,000 people who recieve some form of government assistance?

  Of course, these people (who commented) live in big cities, prices in small villages are likely lower.

  What would it be like to be in the poorest segment?

  

  6.3 Yuan is maybe A$1.20, even with the poverty stricken life I led as a special pioneer, I don't think I've scratched that hard. Though there were days when I literally had no money left to buy food. (OF course, in the big-hearted view of the WTS, when you had no money you were supposed to go out an place some magazines ( a policy that started with colporteurs at the end of the nineteenth century), that's why they gave them to pioneers at such a big discount (No freeloaders in Yahweh's organisation, thank U!!).

  Anyway here's how a student (who may also have some experience in living cheap) in China said he'd live on that:

  At a 'dumpling party*,' I went to on Saturday night, I asked a middle-aged guy who'd grown up as an orphan in British controlled Singapore, if that was below his memory of a poverty line.

  He reckoned that the student was eating better than he ate then (early 60s) under British rule. Trying to relate to it, he said he may have a steamed bread roll for breakfast (nothing else), no lunch and some boiled rice and some vegetables at night. Once in a while, they had a little meat or fish.

  Thnx for your thoughts, DJS.

  Ummm! Not sure how to start this conversation. OK! we jump in. If I recall correctly you have described yourself as same sex attracted. (hope I have not confused you with someone else).

  And, in your above post, you say: " I have a bad picker (some would say - including me - that it is because I am extremely shallow and make decisions based on my eyes and other body parts distanced from my brain!)."

  That of course, is a universal problem, though some gay men (not sure about women) describe the gay sub-culture as behaving that way, i.e. concerned only with physical attraction.

  But isn't it physical attraction the main start point for all relationships, regardless of whether the relationship exists between people of the same or opposite sexes?

  And more, even though Christianity claims that their version of God ordered the universe on monogamy, a more realistic view is that we continue to be sexually interested in the sort of people that attract us. There is no universal tendency to monogamy - indeed we could say that the tendence is toward polyamory.

  So I do not think that you're that unusual.
