If you have not seen that image yet, it shows a young Syrian boy who drowned (possibly with his whole family) during their attempt to flee Syria and reach Greece.
If Donald Trump thinks the USA has a (economic?) refugee problem, then he ought to take a trip to Europe.
been sitting on this for a few days, confining my anger, to an area where i can control it.. two indian sisters to be raped as 'punishment' after brother eloped.
two sisters in india - one aged only 15 years - are to be raped as "punishment" for their brother running away with a married woman from a higher caste in the latest case to shock the country.meenakshi kumari, who is 23, and her younger sister, will then be paraded naked with their faces blackened through the streets, according to a ruling from the all-male village council.. the family are from the dalit caste, historically known as "untouchables".
however, the brother fell in love with a woman from the higher, jat, caste.
Anything we know, is just the tip of the iceberg.
The caste system (upper class, and the Dalits or untouchables) is part of the Hindu worldview.
This video is from an Indian TV news.
islamic tradition rests on a foundation of the (claimed) writings of muhammad, that we know as the koran (or, quran).
so in that view believers see him restoring the original monotheistic faith of all the prophets ( of the west asian tradition).. its important to know that muhammad was born in mecca (in arabia) somewhere around 570 ce.
his parents died when he was young, and he was given into the care of his uncle abu talib.
The topic intrigues me because there is some contention regarding the traditions associated with the beginnings of Islam.
A german academic, himself a convert to Islam, has contested the authenticity of Muhammad. I find it difficult to go that far, but can wonder if it all happened as Muhammad claims.
anyone who has read what happened here, both to the ancient site and also the grizzly murder of antiquity scholar khalid asaad, consider this.
what religious/theocracy on earth now most resembles the stories of "god's chosen people" of the old testament?
probably isis does.
Diogenesister: you are quite right TRUE religous fundies like the WTBTS would willingly destroy all ancient monuments as being symptomatic of Satans' system and worthy of destruction.

Its important to know that Muhammad was born in Mecca (in Arabia) somewhere around 570 CE. His parents died when he was young, and he was given into the care of his uncle Abu Talib. As an adult he mostly worked as a trader. For whatever reason he seems to have felt the need to be alone at times and would got to a mountain cave for meditation and prayer, and it was at this place that he tells of being visited by the angle Gabriel and given a revelation, specifically for him, from God. It is said that he was aged 40 at that time, Hence the earliest he could have started writing down these prophetic messages is around 610 CE.
But ...
We now come to a recent discovery. Filed away in a library in Birmingham UK was an old manuscript - contained part of the Koran. Like most ancient manuscripts these days, it was subjected to a battery of tests in an attempt to establish its age.
So now jump to the news story to see how old the experts think it may be and what the implications are for the dating:

Two Indian sisters to be raped as 'punishment' after brother eloped
Two sisters in India - one aged only 15 years - are to be raped as "punishment" for their brother running away with a married woman from a higher caste in the latest case to shock the country.
Meenakshi Kumari, who is 23, and her younger sister, will then be paraded naked with their faces blackened through the streets, according to a ruling from the all-male village council.
The family are from the Dalit caste, historically known as "untouchables". However, the brother fell in love with a woman from the higher, Jat, caste. (but) The woman was forced into an arranged marriage in February with a man from her own caste despite her relationship, according to Zee news, citing the elder sister Meenakshi. The couple (then) eloped in March, but returned to the village after the man's family were allegedly tortured by police.
The village council then made its ruling that the Dalit family should be dishonoured to "avenge" the brother's supposed crime.
Meenakshi and her sister ran away to the capital after the ruling was handed out and were able to submit their petition for protection for their family at the Supreme Court. However, they are still facing the punishment when they return home.
Khap panchayats are the archaic systems of village justice that exist in much of rural India. They are dominated by the Jat caste and are almost always run by male village elders.
The "courts" often order honour killings and sexual "punishments" and are frequently allowed to operate completely outside the Indian legal system, despite the Supreme Court labelling them "kangaroo courts". Jats are powerful sources of votes and few politicians have been prepared to challenge the system.
this may sound insane but i literally have blood on my hands as i have just come home from a counselling session that went wrong...i wanted to collate all that has happened and record it...hospital policy is against it.
i said "what am i alive for then if not to tell the truth" she tut tutted and i walked out sadly in despair.. when i got to the ground floor there was a young girl screaming her head off.
she was afraid, that is all she was...........afraid.
freaking her out all the time, with your' f_*)*)ing drugs.
yes - I've known kids with minds destroyed by this stuff.
know how you feel !!!!! (hug)
as witnesses we were truly convinced that we knew the truth about the dead.
they were truly dead, and we often quoted ecclesiastes 9:4-6, our favourite proof text on that topic, to prove the point.
that text reads (just in case you've already forgotten it - smile), (from the niv):.
I finished my post before last with - " In pages 36 to 40 he discusses messages left by the living requesting the dead to intercede for them. But that's for the next post."
The book referred to, being Peter Brown's, "The Ransom of the Soul."
On the pages I referred to, Brown describes an area in the catacombs of San Sebastiano, where Roman people, including Christians would go to eat 'celebratory' meals in what they felt was the presence of the deceased loved ones. Often they would scribble some kind of record of the mean, on a wall, along with a sort of prayer to the dead relatives/friends and church heroes.
Brown says there are some 330 such graffiti messages that can still be read.
So here in this quiet place we can still find the thoughts of ordinary Christians of the time prior to Constantine and the great changes he brought to the early church.
What do these scribbled messages tell us. Brown states that the overwhelming sense, is that the living prayed intently to be remembered by the dead.
For example, it was believed that Peter and Paul had been interred there for a while. so one graffiti message reads:
"Peter and Paul, have us in mind, Holy spirits, hold in your mind."
It was believed that dead Christians could also speak directly to God. So another reads:
"Peter and Paul, pray perpetually for Dativus."
But, such requests were not just addressed to the dead Christian heroes, but also to relatives and friends. An example given is this:
"Januaria, take your rest well, and ask for us."
Through these inscribed requests, we can see that for many early Christians, there was no thought that their dead relatives and friends were asleep in death, but they were regarded as being able to 'speak' directly to God and to pass on messages.
That's a far cry from being unconscious.
