This is very interesting information. It seems so unrealistic. How do we know for sure that this is real, and is it a pilot project?

Aroq: I have a deep respect for God's word too. However, the meaning of, "Do not tell a lie", does come through in this passage. The justification for killing them doesn't.
I wished there was a better understanding/meaning.

Pioneering: How the GB shamelessly capitalizes on members' worldly desire for prominence.
by Island Man inthe bible likens the preaching work to a sacrifice of praise - praise to god.
pioneering is also a sacrifice that involves praise.
it's the sacrifice of a specified number of hours that wins you the praise of men.. when you really analyze the psychology of pioneering it is apparent that the praise of men or prominence before men is at the heart of it.

So, I'm confused here. Which one of you are going to pioneer for 30 hrs in March?

I always found this Bible acct to be puzzling. It's found in the book of Acts. It starts by mentioning that in Jerusalem a need arosed to care for some Christians who lived together as a community. Fields were sold to enable this. This was voluntary. Ananias and Sapphira sold their field, but lied when they presented their offering. They said that it was the full price, but it wasn't. So, they were caught in their lie and therefore God killed them. At least the deciples gave them a burial. So......What's up with this? People lie. I get it. But is lying a Capital offense??
I really struggle with this biblical acct. Can anyone make any sense out of this?

My First Special Pioneer Assignment
by fulltimestudent inmy first special pioneer assignment.- part 1.. in australia, western civilization is a thin strip of land, that hugs the coast.
all the major cities are on the coast.
i grew up on the east coast of australia where the great dividing range, as its called, runs parallel to the coast, and limits the extension of cities like sydney and brisbane.

Your description of how a Special pioneer assignment brought back some memories. Although mine were not that extreme, I remember hitch hiking to nearby towns daily to work our territories. We lived in a humble home on a hill that overlooked the Ocean. We didn't have much, but we did have plumbing. If I had it as rough as you did, I would have faked, family troubles, and caught the next bus back home as well.

Is there a slowdown in congregation get togethers?
by truthseeker ini was just reading thelisteners post from an earlier thread, and it got me thinking just how little time dubs have to associate togther.. it seems to be more and more the fact, that the only time dubs see each other to "associate" - if you can even call it that - is at meetings and conventions.. even at conventions though, the dubs are told not to go outside for lunch, regardless of whether it is a nice day of not.
(note, this may not be true at all conventions).
where is a jehovah's witness supposed to get this period of refreshment so he can do more?

How often do you see the Witnesses out on the ministry?
by rory-ks ini only ask because i hardly ever see them out on the ministry.
it is a very rare sighting to spot them actively engaged in the house to house ministry.
or out on the street work, in the marketplace, etc.. the other reason i ask is because they are constantly pictured as being on the preaching work.
