Last I saw, the Noah Movie dropped 62 % during the weekend.
I'm waiting to see Nebraska, when it becomes a rental. I just saw, 12 Years a Slave. Excellent movie, very sad, but ends well.
well, i saw it.
you better get ready for everyone's talk about it.. it was 25 % biblical, 75 % fantasy.. noah was mean as a character, his family was great.
methusala, was an old fart..

it was really quite amusing 2day at the meeting when we got to the "this generation will not pass away" subheading in the wt.
the conductor spent very little time on the section and the comments that were given didnt at all make sense really.
you can tell its not understood by the majority of the friendsand will go over there heads, i was trying not to laugh lol.
That's a good diagram, Oubliette.
This new thought gives me a headache.

Island Man: I did some more research on that scripture in Mat. regarding the wording, "Know". Interestingly I found in, Thayer and Smith's Bible commentary, and I quote,
"To learn to know, get a knowledge of perceive, feel to become known, to know, understand , perceive, have knowledge of, to understand,"
Some of the word usage for the word, "Know", also is "comprehend, understand, take notice, unaware, understand"
So it seems that the NWT has rendered an acceptable rendering of that word.
i'm not sure how else to describe this meeting at my kitchen table.
my elderette ("miss k") arrived with her friend in tow.
i vaguely remember the 2nd lady ("miss w") from the times we went to the kh, but like miss k, we never really talked in depth.
I sound like Miss K? What is she like?
So your rationale is, because it doesn't say anything about Noah preaching in Black and White, in the book of Genesis? Because, the book of Hebrews, and 2 Peter, both support the thought that Noah wasn't silent about God's intent at that time in history.
I'm not taking sides in your argument with Miss K. I'm just expressing an opinion on this topic. I struggle to believe in the Bible every day, and sometimes it is a challenge when there is a lack of supporting documentation, and background to fully understand the context, and meaning. I don't think that the GB, or anyone has the manopoly on Bible understanding.
noah, my movie review.
you may have already judged this film and you've never seen it!
like many of its critics, you think you know what you're going to see and .
I understand, and appreciate what you are saying, Terry.

life is tough when you've spent your best years in the borg...how do you reconnect when kids are grown and you're close to retirement age?.
I hope all of you get feeling better.

So did Noah keep it a secret? When asked about the ark, did he just sweat and say, " Well, cough, cough, it's nothing, just a family project that I'm working on".

Hmmm...good point Island Man. The Greek does mention, "they didn't know"
I don't know Greek, and wouldn't be in any position to argue how those Greek word's should be understood. The thought in 2 Pet 2:5 , in the Greek, does claim that Noah was a "Preacher". Heb. 11:5 says that, "Noah condemed the world" (Byington translation). The Greek says, "though which faith he judged down the world".

Yes, the Beatles recorded his song, "When the rain comes"

Well, I did see it, and I have already posted my comments. Here are a few more.
The Noah movie, shouldn't have Noah's name on it. Is it creative, it sure is. It is packed with special effects, and interesting story twists. I enjoy listening to stories, but let's be fair, there is fantasy, and reality.
