Basic Principles for Forum Moderation
by Simon ina perennial issue for any online forum is moderation and applying rules.
we have a set of community guidelines and posting guidelines that are intended to make clear what is and isn't acceptable but this tends to focus on the obvious standards of behavior for, well, obvious reasons.
it's easy to talk about people being aggressive or insulting etc... as those are common and clearly unwanted behaviors and the typical issue for online communities - the most likely things to come up.. does this mean that everything *not* on the list is allowed?

Thanks, Simon. I try to follow the rules. You are patient. I'm happy to have a website like this that tells me how people really think on JW world. -

Not unless you're getting married in the morning.
But, you have to get me to the church, get me to the church, get me to the church on time.

by joe134cd inhere is the current situation of an acquaintance of mine.. age early 40s.
currently lost her good paying job.. managed to find another reasonably quickly.
although be it with not good money but with the possibility of been able to take an adult apprenticeship which would increase her pay over time.. she is also looking into going to university in the new year.. here is the question i have bearing in mind the above scenario.

You mentioned that your friend is an apprentishipping in a profession. I have found in my case that some, but not lots of education is useful, I too entered the workforce late in life since I was in full-time service during my youth.
Recommendation: See if there is a trade/training for two years that will establish your friend in a stable organization

J.W. Women Should Stop Wearing Mascara!
by The Searcher inthe wtbts/ org dictates to its subservient followers what constitutes a bible truth/principle and what does not.
example: it-1 p. 319 birthday - ".....there is no indication in the scriptures that faithful worshipers of jehovah ever indulged in the pagan practice of annually celebrating birthdays.
the bible makes direct reference to only two birthday celebrations, those of pharaoh of egypt and herod antipas.

Women don't do it because of that Jezebel influence, They do it because of the Racoon look. If guys could wear Coon Skin hats, what's the harm? -

There was this family that had two Chihuahuas and they decided to serve where the need was greater. They got rid of their Chihuahuas and guess where they were sent. That's right, Chihuahua Mexico. Had they kept them, they would have had their own interpretors. -

Yes, R&R, I agree with you. The map became their focus. Somewhere in the family discussion was the question, "How can we get by on just the Family Allowance Cheque?" -

What's this??? Not all Sub CO's are equal? They need connections?
How do you know which ones that is?
Hmmm... "I feel that the force is strong with this one"

Well Poopie, that is a good question. The CO could be teaching somewhere in TinBukToo for six months and will come home to finally listen to his telephone messages. He may be teaching Pioneer school for 7 days, and then stop and serve an Isolated congregation and then return home to look at his messages. He may have Call Display on his phone and when he notices that the unimportant Sub CO is calling and choose not to talk to him until the next scheduled Assembly. But don't worry about all of this. Don't you know that appointments are made by Holy Spirit. -

Some who have gone to serve where the need is greater have brought their pets. But, I do think that there is a silent message in that photo. How pathetic that is.
