  "I am Happy to be Controlled" - Edinburgh Elder on Cult Cart

  so my wife and i were up in edinburgh for the weekend for the international festival - we had a great weekend including going to see the military tattoo at the castle.. we were walking up the royal mile watching the street performers among hundreds of thousands of others from all over the world when i spotted the cult cart in it's usual spot being universally ignored.

  feeling confident after my confrontation a couple of weeks ago we decided to go and have a chat with the two men.

  i asked them if they were keeping up with the events in australia and proceeded to share lots of information with them.

  You say, "after those 100's of thousands street performers were at this International Festival, you were interested in the carts with two men". and you approached them, There you have it, they were there for your enjoyment.

  How can you say nobody was interested in them? You and your wife were interested

  You said that the Cart was ignored? In our city someone took a counter and recorded the amount of people that stopped and looked at the carts were 800 in 2.5 hours. They always place literature. I guess England is tougher.

  well, i sat through day 1 or the "imitate jesus" convention.

  they released the new brochure for inactive ones.

  while no tomo-esque rants took place, it seems that the official policy is that "inactivity" merits the death sentence.

  You are called "Irregular" if you miss up to six months of Field Service, We don't have a brochure for that yet. But it looks like the definition of "Inactive" is about to get new light. It is my theory that DF, and DA ones are going to be absorbed into that word.

  okay, i don't even know where to start.

  i'm 16, i live in a strict jw household and i know if i am pregnant (which is a big possibility) ..i know i'm doomed to a life of misery.

  not because of my baby but because of my family and the isolation and judgement from the congregation.

  i have seen some ask on this site how the active jw's are handling what is happening in australia.

  here is my little experience from last night........ my parents were baptized in the late 30's as children and have never faltered in their determination to survive the great tribulation and live forever in paradise (even though they actively associate with all their df'ed kids).

  my father is still actively serving as an elder and my mother has always been by his side.

  i ask because my gf, who knows all about my jw upbringing, convinced me to grow a goatee, just to see how it looks.

  we both decided it looked good so i decided to keep it.

  i tried to explain to her that as a jw, i wasn't allowed to grow one, but then drew a blank when she asked me why.
