So ... Russia and Nato at war? Should we be worried?
by Simon init seems unbelievable but turkey (a nato member state) shooting down a russian jet fighter on their syrian border seems to be "meh" news and no one is too bothered about it too much.. the world seems a bit upside down right now.
i don't think a lot of countries really know who the hell they are fighting and who is and isn't on their side in it all and really what is going on.. smaller incidents than this have led to major conflicts in the past but hopefully calm heads will prevail.
china shot down a us spy plane years ago and the world survived and forgot about it so things will move on i'm sure.. i'm guessing the price turkey pays for their gas supply from russia will be going up soon though.. man, that republican primary is sucking all the news attention from the room.

Thanks goodness for having that, "Mom and Dad, are not feeling well", as a perfect excuse to get out of that Foreign Language assignment. It looks like the Elders are beginng to shut the gate once you check into that congregation -

Did I imagine a brief thaw in the Watchtower injunction against going to university?
by slimboyfat inokay i was talking to an elder and he said me going to university was a bad idea and i should have listened to the society and not gone.
but i said that when i went to university the watchtower was saying it might not be a bad idea to go to, as long as you do it for the "right reasons", don't associate with worldly people, and keep clear of "damaging ideas".
but basically they said it was okay, in this "changing world" and job market to go to university.

Yes, that's right. The ORG layed off all those Bethellites and said they couldn't use uneducated ones anymore so get out in FS. But, you had to read it between the lines. -

Didn't get the Watchtower today at all
by Pioneerbot ini know it's dumb to think it would make sense.
i've been telling myself to lay low because everytime i ask a question now my husband says i have a negative attitude and i sound like an apostate.
hmmm wonder why.

I'm still confused in the Cong Bookstudy that stated that Jah could have saved all the animals but he allowed mankind to save only two of them on the ark. The animals fit for a sacrifice were seven. But they had a death sentence on them. -

You sound like you should be on the LDC. We already had the money for that in our hands, and the LDC guy left with that and told us to make due. I bet you our money won't be used for a New KH too. -

Hypocrisy of JW Thinking After Tragedy Like Paris
by freemindfade init never has ceased to boggle my mind how twisted up jw thinking is.
when they see something like what happened in paris, in person they will express how sad and detestable it is quickly followed by "this is why we need the kingdom, and the desert god is gonna fix everything.
" here is where i get perplexed.

New Light: Don't hold hands during prayers
by RR infrom the watchtower november 15 study edition.. 19 when we are being represented in public prayer, we need to display reverential "fear of god.
" (1 pet 2:17) there may be a proper time and place for some actions that would be inappropriate at a christian meeting.
(eccl 3:1) for instance, suppose someone sought to have all in a group link arms or hold hands during prayer.

Well I would hold my wife's hand but I can't. I'm a very successful Hand Model. I can't even wash the dishes in my home unless we are using Joy Detergent. I have to be prudent when I'm with company. Sometimes they want to shake my hand. The French like to kiss them. Sometimes when I'm dining at Colonel Sanders, the guest stare at my fingers and think that they're finger licking good.
