just this past week i went to see a jbub relative that was in the hospital.
there was an elder there from her hall.
he was probably there for support but also to make sure no blood was used.
hey mutz, i completely agree and it goes to show the the inherent goodness in people that has nothing to do with religion. Even though some of these dubs have been in for many years you can see the internal struggle they have to NOT show simple decent human behavior. The goodness will never go away and hopefully it will be what wakes some of these people up.

i think i understand that fractions of components are not considered blood but i think that realization brings this next question.. does it simply just not matter that the fractions of components came from blood?.

ever since i started lurking on this site, i have looked forward to your perspective and thoughts on things. I use to try and explain to people that doubted the bible or doubted jesus existance, how could a group of story writers write about a man that has litterally touched billions of peoples lives in a postive way. It just couldnt be done, It had to be all real. After several years of this I realized (as I was telling yet another unbelieving, doubtful satan worshiper about the man that touched so many lives) that indeed muslims did have a man that was "made up"(in my mind) that touched millions and in fact billions of peoples lives.
To your point about the bible being at the very least a copy of a copy (most likely many more copies in between) I find it amazing that we as a human family can shut out fellow humans, shut out our families, pretend were right and they are wrong and lord it over one another because we feel that the comma should be here or the comma should be there.

so i'm out doing some shopping at the supermarket and as i'm walking to the checkout, i see my so and his wife (in full fs attire) talking to someone just past the checkout registers.
i am looking for the furthest checkout at this point making sure not to be noticed by the so or his wife.
well, just my freakin luck, there is only one checkout open.
I am no one to judge, I still have family in who know the truth about the truth and continue to stay in. They have their reasons and thats fine with me. They know where I stand and I them. It is my sincerest hope that this is not construed as judgemental.
Please reread your post but this time read it from a "normal" persons perspective. It would seem to me that you are living in fear of these people. Fading is not a sin, be up front with them and dont let them talk down to you, really who asks someone "how are you doing spiritually?" Hey bro, you ever jerk off in the shower? Mind your own effin business!! (1 Thess 4:11(sans the effing)) If you feel like this is how you have to respond by hiding or ducking away, i get it, im not judging it. Thats fine with me, but I just feel like the longer we as ex-jdubs still play by the "shunning rules" or play the guilt game the longer this sham of a policy will continue to be a powerful tool for the church.

my wife mentioned our circuit assembly was this weekend, she looked at me and i let out a chuckle and said "the kids are too sick right?
" (they weren't) but it was what she wanted to hear, an excuse from me to blow it off.
it got us thinking about how they were kind of tolerable when we were younger.. meals with ice cream, lots of volunteering to get you out of your seat.. there was more room at past assemblies.

the emotionally straining part is not dealing with the majority of people who are still trapped inside. I really feel for them. I want to help but like so many on this site have said "if people are not ready to see it, the wont" My mother is still in but she knows the truth about the truth. She just has an entirely different social structure than I do and I hold it against noone why she or anyone else chooses to leave or stay. The tough part for me is that my ex-wife and her husband are uber dubs and I need to make sure that my kids grow up with all the experiences and opportunities to think critically that I was not given. Sometimes I am scared about them choosing the jdub lifestyle someday but given my socially sheltered upbringing I cannot possibly imagine that my kids will choose that lifestyle when allowed to see both perspectives. In my last meeting with their mother I told her that I am glad they get to live in "a good jdub household" because in the end when people are allowed to see both perspectives the jdub does not stand up to honest scrutiny.

Dont feel bad for me at all! What floors me is this is a self made man. Decent business, at one time employed at least 5 other people, takes care of his family but he is "captive of the concept" just as I was for most of my life. I have pity on him. He has been df'd when he was younger, he knows how the game is played but he is still trapped enough, (even though I believe I saw a bit of a real person in his actions) to not even have the common decency to give a fellow person a "hello"

He says nothing and fills out his deposit slip. I just turned around and smiled to myself. He finishes up his receipt and walks by me so I turn around and say "not even a Hello denny?" He just walked by me with a stupid grin on his face and his head down! I couldnt beleive it. This is not just an elder I knew from the hall. I worked for the man for four years in a small 5 man show. We are not strangers. He is not a shy man and neither am I. The way he was smiling just made me think that something in him was embarressed for acting that way but he couldnt help it.
I know the man at least read my da letter a few months ago. The beautiful thing is, when I got home I was able to use it as an example to show my kids of how Jesus does not want us to act towards others. Once you can look at things objectively its amazing how bad the jdubs make themselves look.
