  Steve... must have got this post mixed up with another one. my bad.

  My perspective is that of a born in and really the only group in the kingdom hall that I care about. I was raised in a bubble where dissent was not tolerated or even seen. If someone had layed even one brick of dissent for me to see maybe it would not have taken me 30 years to get out. For all the bubble wrapped kids in that hall this was probably very strange but kids are curious until the curiousity is stomped out of them. Thats what jdubs do. They stomp curiousity of of children.

  Maybe this was the first brick for some or maybe it was the final brick in the wall but it can help people wake up. You are correct, it may reinforce stereotypes in the cow eyed adults but I dont care about them. (my mother, grandparents, brother, aunts and uncles are included in the cow eyed crowd) Born ins are fucked from the beginning because of cowardly people who dont question what they are told. Fuck those people. If this even planted a seed in one out of a million it was a net positive.

  Are we talking about the guy who stands up at the event he was invited to, drinks the wine that was passed to him, takes a sip, says a few words and then hands the glass back to the gentleman and then leaves? I will assume we are. He did nothing illegal. Clearly he was not welcome AFTER he made his speech, the speech that he left right after. He made a statement, hardly a protest and then left.

  Effectiveness aside, this man is not getting arrested because he did nothing to get arrested for. When the smiling chubby bastard held his arm up towards the door this man followed said chubby bastard's direction and left the hall.

  The man stood up at a public event, said a few words and left without incident. Not your way? fine... that is your perogative. Was this self serving? Who cares? Those that choose to be controled will no doubt continue to want to be controlled. Screw them. Could this have jolted the conscious of a study or newcomer or MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL a born in kid who is trapped? Maybe.

  If there were 100 people in this hall and 99 of those people crawled even further under their rock and even one person thought for the first time to google jwfacts then it was absolutly worth it.

  I finally understood the final hurdle...

  well the "pious" elders tuned out to be " super pious" and very good at reciting from the " very super pious" elders manuel, but actually " super pious" elders are quite harmless when ignored.. as for my former friends in the congregation, well throughout the ages there have always been people prepared to stand up for truth and friendship, sadly my " former" friends from the congregation proved not to be people of such noble character, instead only capable of giving short contrived speeches about why they missed me at meetings, snooze, and no great loss, as i have found the community outside the w.t organisation positively buzzing with unconditional friendship.. anyway i feel i have overcome all hurdles in my exit from the " w.t" except one,which is how i deal with my disrespectful father.

  even when i was a witness in good standing, he had a pretty disrespectful and rude word power, now it's completely inappropriate.

  i have tried pointing this out, even had long periods without contact, but i don't like doing that as it denies my mum seeing her grandson.. however what i have concluded is that this isn't w.t at fault.

  We can all point fingers at the "evil" watchtower but at the end of the day it is parents who do not report child molesters, its brothers & sisters and family friends that shun us. The people who want to be run by an organization, allow themselves to be run by an organization. They are at fault for not wanting to think and second guess what they are being taught. When all is said and done, it is the rank and file dubs who commit these acts of inhumanity. The consequences we deal with are a direct result of our "family and friends" actions.

  Can a DFed person donate?

  rereading a post re the shunning wt in feb made me think, do the wt accept money from the dead?

  not inheritances but from the "living dead" as they perceive df and da people to be.. personally i think they accept or more correctly badger members who are really brain dead into giving.

  or do attendants guard contribution boxes to stop such non existent people from putting money in.

  I had a buddy who was somewhat eccentric and was pretty good at counting cards. He was in again out again throughout or late teens and early 20's. He would drive up to local casino make a few thousand and (even though he was df'd) report himself to the elders and donate his winnings.

  So yes..... they take any/all money. Jehovah loves him some BLACKJACK!!

  Little Free Library

  hey all,.

  almost finished with a "little free library" to set up in front of the house and was wondering if anyone else has put one of these up?

  got to thinking that it may get filled up with my tots fav periodicals, watchtower and awake.. anyone else had any experience with this?

  i found the following story while researching the jw mindset and subsequent behavior due to their weekly exposure to mind control techniques.

  the story is a bit old but it does speak volumes in terms of the mental anguish the average jw teen must endure as a jw.

  That happened in Phillips WI. I think there is a youtube video floating around on the incident. If I am not mistaken there were suspicious circumstances surrounding that story as well.

  I love the area but it is the definition of a closed off small town USA. Harbor View has great fish fry!

  A faded JW about to see the Circuit overseer

  so my mum who is in and really is finding it hard that i have left and faded.

  shes asked me if i want to the the circuit overseer next week.. i have never met him and this is more my mum wanting me to get my problems i have with the organisation out.

  but should i share everything i've learnt or what?.

  I dont understand all the fear. This man can litterally do NOTHING to you. If YOU dont want to go then dont go. Get a free meal, maybe a beer or two out if it.

  Obviously you are your own person. If he brings something up you dont want to talk about then tell him its none of his business. Go, or dont go but dont cower in fear to him.

  The "walking on eggshells" mentallity is what allows the dubs to keep the control. I do understand that people want to stay in for family or any other number of reasons but at the end of the day, if you shrink yourself for family or friends you are only hurting yourself and as in indirect consequence, helping to keep the jdub bubble strong. Break the bubble!!
