It will probably take a nuclear war. With the constant state of panic and end times talk coming from anyone who disagrees with trump, I would say a nuclear war.
Trump is attempting to govern and almost everything he does is being fought against. Last I checked that is how it works in the good ol' USA.
It is difficult to defend him against shutting down the news media and closing internet websites but... meh... what can you do.

a friend of mine (a jw) delivered a premature baby, and the outlook is grim.. she is posting updates on facebook, and where everyone else is offering prayers for them both, and how "jehovah loves them both very much", and i got...nothing.
nothing that would be comforting.
big man in the sky has zero to do with this, only medical science and chance will have any bearing on this.i wish i could lie convincingly to her and to myself and have something nice to say.
In reality, those friends really have nothing to say. Jehovah loves both of you is essentially saying nothing. All you have to offer is you. Offer yourself in any way you feel able to.
At the end of the day what more can any of us offer other then ourselves.

until a couple of months ago i was an uber-spiritual pioneer, only having association with other pioneers, elders and others who would fill in the category i classified as "spiritually acceptable" friends.. but since stopping pioneering and having more time to think about my doubts and what i really believe (or better said, what i no longer believe), i have started getting to know other less spiritual brothers and sisters of the area.
in fact, my old friends are starting to forget me quite quickly, i must say.
so, i guess my next move in fading is becoming what i call the average witness.. and what did i discover?

I have had that convo with my mother many times. I can also look back on my reasoning on why I did certain things as well. When you are in, even if you are in the fading class, it is very difficult to back away far enough to see that you still have the bias in your view. It was only when I mentally and formally got out did I see the stupidity of my own reasoning.
If you stay in, even if you are fading, it is very difficult to see how damaging it is to stay a member of this organization.

Any parent who has this information on hand and who consciously chooses not to go to the appropriate authorities must shoulder responsibility for their inaction. I could not agree more
If the parent is the one abusing, then maybe the church can be held responsible.. after the other parent decides not to report it.

attending for family reasons, and listen in "oversee" modus to the many comments during the watchtower study.. in my opinion it was a self help article on the subject stress amongst the flock.. leave it all to jehovah and help your self with the bullet points.. what i noticed from the comments is the lot of stress mentioned.

it is a real toppic amongst them.
It seems to me they have all the anxiety as any other group of people. The major problem for them though is they are taught to only rely on other people to solve their problems. If a kid wants to play sports they bring in the elders to "reason" with the kid. If a brother needs to work overtime he will go to the publications to see if this really is the "wisest" course of action. If a family member needs blood to live they dont contact a dr for a second opinion, they contact the "no blood" committee!
Left and right, they are looking for someone else to solve all their problems. They have the view that the "The problem is out there" never realizing they have the power to solve most of the problems in their own life. They simply do not want the burden of making their own choices.
