  so did anyone notice the statement on page 11, paragraph 11?

  "if a brother has been baptized at least one year and to a reasonable degree meets the scriptural qualifications fo rministerial servants outlined at 1 timothy 3:8-13, he can be recommended for appointment.

  " i thought paul specifically warned against appointing a "newly converted man"?

  In our area, the customary period for ME appointments was around 3 years and 5 for elder. But we had a MS appointed after just 1 year from his baptism, a young man of 19 years of age. He is loving and intelligent and I think one day he will DA too.

  I studied the Bible and with more knowledge came more doubt and suddenly there was light! The Bible appeared in it's true light: not a book from God, but a book written by men who lived millenia ago. After I realized this, the cards-castle went down. I no longer saw a reason for doing what others considered right for me, I no longer saw a reason for wasting saturday and other days mornings knocking at strangers' doors, I no longer saw a reason for the crap that is the JW lifestyle. This was a slow process that constantly erroded my last grains of credulity (Christians call it "faith"). My mind was bombarded by "why"s, "what if"s and "how"s and they hammered constantly in my head. Months before my DA, I ceased praying. God was no longer real for me. And one day I decided to tell the GB to f... off.

  I stayed in the religion after I was un-witched because of the family I studied with. They were kind and I had much fun time with them. Two months after my DA, they shunned me twice, when we crossed paths in the city. Their feelings were not genuine, they were just wearing the mask from the beginning. They were a family of 2 pioneers, 2 indoctrinators. All the nice moments we had died in my memory and I will forget them all. I erased all their photos and burned all that I received from them. It's like beeing married to a woman you don't love, but you stay with her because she is rich. I was just grindmeat for the JW machine, a wealthy and educated young man on the road to eldership or even CO. There were no genuine feelings, just masks. I despise them all and they are dead to me.

  Don't know how to leave: FADE or DA letter?

  hi folks.

  i wondered if any of you ex elders can help me to figure out what my status is and therefore how to log out from the borg.

  i was baptized at 15, faded at 18. never heard anything from the elders after their first visit, which wasn't about a big deal and had no conclusion.

  it's very accurate when describing the jw lifestyle and convictions, even their clothes and hairstyle.

  I am not a witness. Not anymore. In Romania, that elder's grooming would be considered outrageous. I knew about the shorts in the Lower countries or in Australia and I guess wearing a kilt in Scotland is also not strange.

  I'm amazed. So, the brothers from the northern countries are allowed to give speeches and hold priviledges while wearing a beard and uncut hair? Even at a congress?

  I have just seen the movie. It's very accurate when describing the JW lifestyle and convictions, even their clothes and hairstyle. But a bearded elder with a rather long hair??? Come on! And when this bearded elder gives a speech at the congress, he says "a girl from my congregation...". This is a phrase that would have been enough to draw a nice spanking from the CO after the congress. That elder was the only character that seemed out of place. It's a nice movie and having the ex-JW perspective really helped me out in tasting it.

  What is the story with my fist? I was holding a small piece of paper which had on it the name of the man who gets the big bucks from the WT accounts. You'll never know who he is! Ok, I'll give you a hint: it's not Jehovah and definetly not Jesus Christ!
