Even if the WTS has given up the fight, does that mean they pay Candace and both parties ride quietly off into the sunset? Would there not be some media storm surrounding the finality of the suit?

Last year, when news of the case hit the wires in what I percieved to be a pathetic response by media outlets to the highest penalty ever levied angainst a church in a case like this, I assumed the media's casual interest was due in part to the fact that they knew it would be appealed and were waiting for the "real" verdict to be handed down before deeming the story news worthy.

Flipping out at the meeting

unfortunatley, i still go to many meetings as i am working on getting my wife to wake up.

for the most part i maintain my composure but there have been two or three times when i actually have gotten so upset and the frustration built so high that i have come very come close to actually slamming something down or pounding the table in the literature room, or shouting out how i felt!

has anyone else felt this way?

At my last circuit assembly they started in with the "god hates fags" lingo within the first five minutes of the program. I stood up and said, "I'm not going to sit here and listen to this shit!" (in a normal speaking voice), and drove the two hours back home.

I went to a half dozen Sunday meetings at the kingdom hall after that and walked out of the last one because of something the speaker said. As I stood up I said, (loud enough to be heard) "That is NOT what the bible teaches."

My DA letter followed soon after.

In one of his books, Ray Franz said that he didn't believe the Watchtower organization was A CULT but that it had a few CULT-LIKE qualities. I think he was being overly cautious in his desire not to offend newly awakening readers.

You can not have as many cult-like qualities as the WTS has and not BE a cult.
