1 - Quendi and some of us other gay posters were consumed at one time. We may be further along in our individual processes but rest assured, the subject matter consumed our thinking at one point.
2 - Have you ever worked yourself into a knot, feeling like you were going to puke in fear of having to tell your parents that you were straight, knowing that it could result in your being kicked out of the house, disfellowshipped - basically the end of your little universe? No?
3 - Timmy did not make homosexuality such a big issue. Your people did that. Timmy, like every homo that has gone before, is trying to plow through years of what amounts to psychological abuse from an anti-gay society (which is changing, granted), parents/family, religion, etc... and he's doing a very good job.
Timmy, I wish I'd had the wherewithall to handle my "process" with the level-headed approach you seem to be capable of. I'm a little jealous. In the meantime, keep hammering out this issue for as long as you need, using everyone here as a sounding board.

Interesting article about the grapes. I was curious about that also because I don't drink alcohol anymore either.
I'm hoping my roommate will join me (she's presently kinda-sorta fading a wee bit at a time) and so I was wondering what kind of formal ceremony I should conduct. Obviously the only format I'm familiar with is the JW format; say a few words about the sacrifice, "144,000" (LOL - NOT gonna happen) and then say a prayer before passing the bread and wine.
I had already made the decision to partake as I understand the scriptures quoted above, along with several others, to point in that direction. I can't find any class distinction in the scriptures pertaining to the partaking of the bread and wine.

i and my friends were greatly offended by your june 22, 1987, article homosexuality and the clergy.
The point in telling others that some clergymen are immoral is the same point Jesus made in telling certain clergy of his time that they were “like whitewashed tombs that look handsome on the outside...
The difference here is that Jesus had the ability to read the hearts of those he was talking about. That not only gave him the right to speak but enabled him to speak with authority on the matter.
i can't count the number of witnesses i've heard, or experiences i've read, who say this.. this is the basis on which they decide to join a high control religion ?.
do you make important decisions based on gut feeling or intuition or do you spend time researching a matter first ?
i've made some dumb decisions based on emotion and had to repent at my leisure.. actually, i was thinking about the mother with a missing child who just knows she's alive somewhere and is coming home.
Doesn't this all play into Satan transforming himself into an angel of light? Wouldn't it make sense for some of it, if not a lot of it to be really attractive? I would bet a good bit of it is also "the truth". It wouldn't do for the devil to put a sign on the front of the Kingdom Halls that read: COME ON DOWN! GET YOUR SATAN HERE!
When you have a message that is THAT attractive and situations like: MrMonroe - why God wouldn't create humans with the intention that they'd die, why an intelligent creator suggests an intelligent purpose ..., who would ever think to roll it over and look for the ugly underbelly?

Masturbation and Homosexuality. Oh, how I obsessed about that chapter as a kid. Couldn't keep my hands off Jr. and I just KNEW that was why I had such a crush on Bart Andrews in the fifth grade.
The publication I disliked the most was the Keep on the Watch brochure. Not so much because I disliked the subject matter, but the presentation was lousy. Choppy. It didn't flow. It made me reread sentences in order to figure out what they were saying. I remember when we studied it at bookstudy even the reader tripped up on some of the unflowing'ness of the sentence structures.

I don't think it has anything to do with desperation or perceived risk. I think it might have something to do with:
