  "It's feeding, Jason. When you take it into your veins it's called feeding." So I let it go. I don't want the discussion to become contentious so I just drop it.

  While lurking the other day I came across the pdf of Leavingwt's disassociation letter. For myself, I never realized the historical record of whacko medical advise that has come out of this organization. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by anything anymore, but I was. I printed out the letter and went to the sofa to read it again, this time with her sitting there watching the tube.

  "Whatcha read'n?"

  I told her I had been doing more research on the blood issue and came across this letter. I left it on the coffee table and went to bed. She told me the next day she had read the letter and was very impressed.

  "It has a greater impact when it's logical and well reasoned like that. Intelligently stated. But the thing that gave it the most credibility was that it was presented with kindness and a level head, not spiteful, angry, hateful."

  I agreed. That's the same reason Ray Franz's work is respected by so many and has accomplished so much good, given the credibility that comes with a cool head and responsible presentation.

  Thanks for your help, LeavingWT. I think the roomies blood card may end up in the garbage heap where it belongs some day.

  Giving a thorough witness at the laundry

  there are a couple of public laundry facilities i pass by every day on my way to and from work.

  on the occassions i have to take my bed comforter down to the big machines, i always see the magazines sitting around.

  i'm thinking of making a bi-weekly stop at these places to add a note to each magazine.. i noticed on this forum someone suggested using a marker to write jwfacts.com, or some such thing.

  I noticed on this forum someone suggested using a marker to write jwfacts.com, or some such thing. I decided against defacing the magazine and instead slip this inside the front cover or tape it to the front.

  sometimes i feel like a second class apostate...not that anyone has ever said anything to make me feel that way, i just do, you know what i mean?.

  i left the jws because i just couldn't fight my flesh anymore.

  the battle inside was going to kill me literally.

  I kinda know what you're talking about. I left thinking the WTS was the truth but had just gotten lost like the ancient nation. I figured Jehovah would correct them at some point and bring them back in line. I left because I couldn't stomach the anti-gay treatment stuff.

  Then I wandered in to JWN and realized the scope of the problem. Now, when conversations come up about why I am no longer in the organisation, I don't think I have once started off by telling about the anti-gay problem, if in fact I even bring it up. There is too much more compelling information to share with anyone who will listen; things that will have a greater impact on them to convince them to stay away from that organization.

  there is a sister in our hall who has made it clear why her "jehovah" does not like weak ones.

  her husband the po, will refuse to work with those who are not getting ten hours or more a month.

  the weak ones "are spiritually dangerous and will bring you down.

  That's funny. I remember a conversation years ago (maybe 20) along the lines of disfellowshipped ones usually come back with more zeal than ever before. They are the ones who need the least help from elders because their experience has taught them how to depend on Jehovah and the dangers of leaving His side.

  When I was reinstated, there was a small cluster of five people who got reinstated within two months or so. Three of those people became the discription I gave above. I tried to become that uber JW but within two years I followed the other gay guy out the front door.

  I have always wondered how is Armaggeddon going to happen?

  i have always wondered if jehovah and jesus are going to announce to the world that armaggeddon has arrived or will people just guess that it is armaggeddon or will there be a newsflash that the world has entered armaggeddon.

  the bible seems to contradict on armaggeddon.

  jesus says that armaggeddon will come as a "thief" in the night.

  I never thought of it like that. I always figured the "thief in the night" was a reference to our inability to predict what night the thief would arrive rather than an inability to detect him once he got there.

  something is common to all on this discussion board, we are quick at castigating the watchtower.

  although, i understand your reasons for doing so, but i will warn you not to be guilt of the same offense the wt had committed.

  Coming out of the closet to my sister

  hi,.

  i am an active jw, still single and i live with my jw family.

  i have tried to instill critical thinking skills to my sister and she has gladly accepted them.. i really want to tell her how i feel about the wt and their teachings but i'm not sure if i should.

  The first thing that comes to my mind is that you should make sure you are in a position to support yourself outside of your family before proceeding. Are you able to NOT live with your JW family? If not, be very careful.

  My folks had me packed up and out in less than an hour and the only place I had to go was a 1973 Ford Pinto station wagon with half a tank of gas.
