Most of my dates including my ex wife in my lifetime was born in the month of August. I was born in April. I am trying to figure out why I keep dating someone that was born in August.

Should an elder discourage military service even if said elder has a military pension?
by garyneal indiscussion with my wife concerning what i perceive as a hypocrisy that i see amongst elders (and ministerial servants) who happened to serve in the military long enough to draw a pension check.
all this in a former life (read before coming in to the truth) of course.
i think if said elder were to discourage a young one from seeking military service, or worse participate in the disfellowshipping of such a person if he or she choose to serve, smacks of total hypocrisy.

All current elders WILL discourage military service as expected by the Governing Body. My step grandfather(now deceased) was MS and he did get "military" pension from Lockheed. He assembled military planes for them. He needed the money in order to survive to feed him and my (now deceased) JW grandmother. What is done is done and cannot be undone. There is no way to go to the past and start over in the past.

new book printed in Germany, not wallkill-why?
by factfinder ini just recieved a copy of the new book "imitate their faith" and notice it was printed in the german branch, not at wallkill.. why would they ship books here (the us) from germany instead of printing them in wallkill?.
the new tracts were printed in canada.. is something going on at the wallkill printery that would would hinder book production there?.

Wanabee Elders & Ministerial Servants
by minimus inthere were a lot of wannabee elders and ministerial servants in the congregations.
if you were a male and baptized, it was expected that you "reach out".
everyone wanted to have a position.. wives and mothers of men wanted representation too.

I remember one of the anointed brothers in my old hall. He was MS for about 30 years til his death. One deleted elder told me in private that he wanted to be an elder long time ago but the BOE does not believe that he is one of the anointed so they never appointed him as an elder. He passed away few years ago, Guess what one of the elders gave the funeral talk about his heavenly hope, etc... My Dad was an elder in his congregation too, when I showed him the obituary, he said he does not want to talk about it. I think he is guilty of not appointing him as an elder since he is probably in heaven with Jesus Christ.
