Damn Tallulah, I bet you could fry an egg on your head right now. I think you know what it's like to be cut off from people you care about.
Who do you think you are talking to us like that? No need to be angry at those of us who have reacted negatively about the sudden closing of JWR. They knew we would be upset about it. Don't freak out on us. If you keep doing it I'm going to go make some popcorn. What's been going on since they cut us off goes with the territory.

P.S. "put yourself back in Rifter's shoes"..................Screw Rifter's shoes.
in catholic dominated countries many people are named after the messiah jesus , are their any that are named after his god jehovah / or yahweh ?
anywhere in the world ?.
i have only come across one , in america of all places.. his name was yahweh ben yahweh , and i don`t think he would be used as an example by the wt society.. google him.. has their been anybody else ?
Here in the American Southwest, there are a lot of Hispanic men with the name Jesus (pronounced Hay-zoose). When I encounter them, sometimes I like to say "Hey Jesus (pronounced Jee-Zuss) How's it hangin' ?"
We got a fella named Jesus that works in the local hardware store. Nice guy. I wonder how many people named after deities get the calling to serve the deity they are named after?

hey simon, .
the recent closure of jwr made me realize that this site may not be eternal as well.
a great deal of people attach a lot of importance to xjw communities and yours is the best.
Simon, Thanks for explaining all of that. The depth of your replies shows how much you care..Much appreciated.

i’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.
i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.
i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.
I won't try to make you feel like you ought to be an atheist now that you are no longer a JW. Some people do that unfortunately.
"Nobody "ought to be an atheist".
We spent our lives in the cult hiding from a lot of facts about reality and protecting our ideology from scrutiny. It is reasonable and respectful to assume that everybody who has left welcomes information. What people do with that is their choice."
Hey there cofty. I stated that because I have seen a lot of exjws who are now atheists treating those who still believe in god like they ought to know better, and that they have not progressed like they should if they are not an atheist. I wasn't meaning to start a debate, alright? Peace...

i just wanted to take a minute to say "hi" and welcome to the site for anyone who's come here from jwr.
i can imagine the site being shut down suddenly was shocking and unsettling for many who relied on it and sometimes you don't realize how much you do rely on something until it is gone.. hopefully you'll see some of the same familiar names appearing and be able to reconnect with people you knew via this site and continue your journey together.
i don't know what the posting policies on jwr were but know it as a moderated site so can't imagine them being hugely different to the ones here.
Thank you Simon. It feels good to be here. I am grateful to you for maintaining this place for us.

i ran across this cool video.
i think it's a parody on some recent jw video series or something.
i'm not up to date on jw news and such.
It seems to me that if the WTBS were really interested in the rank and file being prepared for the GT, they would portray them trying to escape and survive off the grid with gathered food and gear, not cowering in a suburban basement waiting for the police to put them into cattle cars or something.
Now, if and when the government tries to arrest them, they are going to be ripe for the picking instead of trying to evade and hide and escape. A big disservice to their supposed brothers and sisters...'Just hide in a basement, and when they find you, offer your wrists for the handcuffs. Be submissive. Let them take your kids. Stand there and do nothing but stare at them"
