These days, I'm finding it harder and harder to not imagine the Org leadership making bigger and more "momentous" blunders...
...either fully convinced in the automatic rightness of their decisions, no matter what, or...
...just figuring that in the unlikely event that they actually (finally) fuck up too hard one too many times and land themselves in real hot water, God will simply grant them victory by miraculously snatching it out of the jaws of certain defeat.

Honestly, I seriously think that on some level, they do realize just how fucking weird he looks, and put him on JWTV on purpose for that very purpose, for the same reason they keep doubling down on all the more offensive aspects of WT ideology...
...it can't help but further alienate the fakers, faders, and fence-sitters, essentially "encouraging" them to leave.
Theoretically, those "troublemakers" would then no longer be an (internal) problem, the minority that stays will be that much more stringent and loyalist, and the leadership can save face by spinning it all as a fulfillment of the "love of the greater number cooling off" prophecy, thusly reinforcing said loyalists' convictions that they really are in the "Last Days of the Last Days".

the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse (iicsa) is holding a public hearing in the child protection in religious organisations and settings investigation for the next two weeks.

i saw a post on reddit from somebody claiming to be an elder that the jw religion wants to contact all inactives.. some of the responses indicate that some were contacted or had close friends or relatives being asked for their contact information.
some of these people have been out of the jw religion for many years and have moved on.
the ones contacted said the jw informed them about cancelled meetings (as though they would care).

Just confirms what I've long suspected... that deep down, at a fundamental level, the WT leadership don't really want XJWs to come back.
The act of "reaching out" to inactives or DFs is - rof all intents and purposes - lip service...
...ten bucks says the efforts are more to determine if inactives or DFs have been exposed to "apostate" information and/or come to suspect that the WTS isn't actually "God's Exclusive Earthly Organization".
I guarantee you they don't want anyone like that anywhere near loyal rank-and-filers.

How many of you wanna bet that this is a some kind of half-assed attempt to suss out potential "apostates"?
i found this video on youtube which correctly explains how religoius cults develop and operate on a psychological and sociological study.. while watching it think of the jws and its general operative behavior.. i think its important to realize many people who fall into cults are usually having some kind unstable problems in their lives looking for answers and relief, the jws are known to exploit people who are under going some personal strife and are venerable to that effect.
