Lots of empty seats at Jehovah's Witnesses Convention in Tucson, Arizona
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhttps://youtu.be/5926nhzyz90.
the jehovah's witness 2023 convention theme is, ''exercise patience''...by looking at the attendance at this tucson, arizona convention, it should be changed to, '' jehovah's witnesses...running out of patience''.

For a group that’s always touted high attendance and “growth” as evidence of divine favor, this has gotta sting.

Personally, I’ve come to suspect that JW loyalists who vehemently deny there’s a problem are the same kind of loyalists who are disproportionately hostile towards “apostates”.
They’re not freaking out because they think the accusations are wrong…
…they’re on the warpath ‘cause they’re afraid the accusations are true.

Wow… usually it’s all weasel words meant to lead the rank-and-file to come to that conclusion themselves.
Ten bucks says he went a bit off-script, there… maybe you touched a nerve?

Rainbow 🌈 Law Makers will turn on Religion NOT the UN
by JohnTron7 init should be starting to become more clear to people what i've stated for years on this site.
the threat against religion that becomes pivotal will come from lgbtq politicians forcing through " hate crime" bills aimed at religions.
in the past i have had a " maybe" statement from only one commenter.

My dad knew old Freddy Franz’s eschatology backwards and forwards, so I grew up thinking of the UN as Darth Sidious’ galactic empire.
Realizing it wasn’t much more than a toothless, jumped-up debating forum (with a charter that had clauses protecting religious freedoms, no less) was, in retrospect, one of my little wake-up moments.

Poll says Gen Xer's would like to return to pre-internet
by SydBarrett inaccording to a new harris poll shared exclusively with fast company, most americans would prefer to live in a simpler era before everyone was obsessed with screens and social media, and this sentiment is especially strong among older millennials and gen xers.. asked whether they would like to return to a time before humanity was “plugged in”—meaning before people had wide access to the internet and smartphones—77% of americans age 35-54 said they would, the highest of any group.. .
what would you consider your ideal level of the internet?
as a gen x'er, i would not want to go back to the per-internet world, but i would like to go back in some specific technologies.

Censuring medicine and information; our new culture.
by was a new boy in'last night's flccc weekly update featured stories of families who fought in court to compel hospitals to give their loved ones ivermectin.
that it has come to this is tragic.
63 studies have now shown ivermectin’s efficacy in all stages of c19 disease.'.

Re. The thread title…
… Personally, I don’t think the issue is so much as the desire to censure information, as it’s the frustration of having to compete with all the idiots out there spewing bullshit as fact.
I could be wrong.

Quick follow-up…
…looking back, I think that moment was when I first started to realize something that I personally think is significant…
…that if you use heavy-handed (or under-handed) methods in your efforts to claim the moral high ground…
…you forfeit the moral high ground.

I remember way back in the day, reading Wikipedia’s entry on JWs (still in at the time).
I felt it was fairly accurate, but one thing really stuck out at me…
…the acknowledgment that the WTS had made significant efforts in advancing and protecting freedom of speech (paraphrasing, but not much), but, however, did not practice it internally.
What stopped me short was that I could not, in any honesty, refute that statement.

Simon - “The rainbow brigade have ridden a wave of regular people being tolerant, but they have overreached and pushed things too far…”
Hard to argue with.
Par for the course when you’re a professional activist, I guess…
…you gotta keep finding a new crusade to wage, or you’re out of a job.
