CIVILIAN SERVICE
by blondie inhow many remember when the wts changed their policy on alternative service; changed it to alternative civilian service so jw men could choose it because it was not supervised by the military.
shows how the wts quibbles with words to advance a "new teaching.
" flag salute, voting, civilian service p. 212. civilian service.

This caught my eye…

even though the org reps would probably ask any attendees to temporarily relinquish any mobile-slash-recording devices, i can’t help but wonder if there are any pimos out there with the requisite legal experiences who could conceivably arrange to attend, and tell us exactly what it’s all about..

THIS is how Jehovah operates? Examining GB Jefffrey Winder's words
by Terry ingoverning body member jeffrey winder on jw dot org:“we are not embarrassed about ‘adjustments’ that are made; nor is an apology needed for not getting it ‘exactly right’ previously.
we understand: this is how jehovah operates.”
1952 no wt 6/1/52 p.338 1965 maybe they will be resurrected .

I remember a long-ago conversation with my then-elder dad about the times JWs had gotten it wrong.
He explained that whatever mistaken belief they may have had at any given time was nevertheless necessary to maintain organizational unity.
I was old enough that that bothered me, but at least he was forthright about it.

nowwhat? - “Their attorneys told them the government really doesn't need the hours spent in the ‘bible education work’ to count as a charity 501c.”
Wouldn’t surprise me.
The Org’s always done something for a reason.
Easier to discontinue something if there’s no more reason to do it…
…then find a pretext to keep doing it if it no longer works anyway.

Not to mention creating a massive paper trail of “charitable” activities to qualify for tax-exemption, since they’ve never done soup kitchens, clothing drives, and the like.

Can the Watchtower Society survive without time reports?
by DT inthere has already been much discussion about how the watchtower society has declared in australia that going door to door is part of a personal ministry.
this seems to be a lame attempt to avoid liability considering that they require time reports and have formal meetings for field service at the kingdom hall.. this is a bit of a dilemma.
reporting time and formal meetings for field service are important methods of control, however it's not clear if the organization is willing or able to handle the potential liability that may come from this.. imagine what would happen if they lost these methods of control.

DesirousOfChange - “…After cashing in on $1.5 BILLION$ (or more) from the sale of the Brooklyn real estate, I find it hard to believe they are really desperate for ca$h, but they sure sound desperate…”
They got around $3B for the Brooklyn sales…
…but apparently, Warwick went crazy-over budget, there’ve been hundreds more pedo payouts that haven’t (and may never) hit the news, and from what I’ve heard, there were some significant outstanding debts specifically tied to the Brooklyn properties they were required by law to square away as part of the terms of the sale.
As a result, it’s all gone, baby, gone.
As to whether they’re “desperate”…
…the way they holler and mobilize their lawyers the moment their tax-exemption looks like it’s approaching the chopping block is all the proof I need.

Phizzy - “…in the twisted minds of the GB they are probably thinking that ‘worldly’ lawyers would not receive Jehoober's blessing or assistance, which is why cases fail…”
You know…
…I can absolutely picture Letto the Clown saying that, verbatim, and meaning every fucking word.

Norway JWBorg news - WTBT$ demands subsidy despite their loss of religious status
by EasyPrompt inhttps://cne.news/article/3755-norwegian-jehovah-s-witnesses-demand-subsidy-despite-their-loss-of-religious-status.
jesus never demanded "subsidies" from the government to share truth.
wtbt$ leaders love the god of their bellies/selfishdesires - having others provide communes for them in opposition to christ's direction.. .

Yup.
Better to let them do it to themselves.
Much less likely that they’ll re-emerge from the ashes, that way.

Steve Lett doesn’t look well
by Teddnzo inas soon as you see steve letts talk at the agm you think to yourself “oh my, what’s happened to him?.
his hand has plasters and his skin doesn’t look healthy, like he has inflammation or something serious going on.. he had put on weight and is all bloated and puffy .
his skin really doesn’t look good, the kind of inflammation many people notice after the experimental covid vaccines.. there have been very high numbers of people reported inflammation after the experimental covid vaccines.

NotFormer - “…Perhaps being in the rarified atmosphere of Bethel leads to people really believing that they are God's special people. But it's not just the GB who have to believe it, but everyone in the Bethel circle. The GB members had to believe it when they were lower level Bethelites, and the Bethelites upon whose shoulders they now sit must believe it too…”
I guarantee it, for the GB especially.
I think the whole system has evolved to only allow True Believers to rise through the higher ranks.

Beth Sarim - “…This is what cognitive dissonance can do to someone… All JWs must have some form of it to varying degrees. The higher you go in the food chain the tougher it must be…”
The followers? Sure.
The higher-ups, though?
I’ve actually given this a fair amount of thought, and have actually come to suspect that authoritarian leaders don’t experience it at all.
