70s Cartoons
by NotFormer inthere're the obvious ones, like the smurfs.
although why still escapes me.
was it because of the magic, that they were "magical creatures", that there were wizards, etc?.

I remember some loyalist JWs were fucking terrified of the occult back in the day.
I didn’t realize until much later that they were likely…
a) …ex-hippies who’d had really bad trips…
b) …undiagnosed schizophrenics, or…
c) …poor anxiety-prone folks who were dealing with sleep paralysis and had no idea what it was.

So what happens next...
by Farmer Jim1 inwith what is arguably the biggest change to jw life in recent decades (the scrapping of publishers counting hours) what does this lead to?.
in my mind these are the results;.
1) a massive decrease in 'preaching hours'.

I think some of the “reforms” they’re implementing might backfire and cause further disillusionment rather than restoke membership zeal.
Why?
Because I can’t shake the feeling that the leadership is basing at least some of these decisions on a mistaken assumption…
…that deep down, the “lukewarm” ones still believe it’s The Truth.
They haven’t really grasped that (like I said in another thread) guys don’t fade because they want to grow beards…
…they grow beards because they want to fade.

The elders came calling. 😹
by MissDaSilva inthis afternoon just after lunch.
i spotted 2 of the nicer elders in the congregation walking up the drive.
i didn’t answer the door.

I’m picturing it happening just perfectly… no anger being expressed (just hurt and dismay), and flawless, undeniable logic…
…and some crusading, loyalist elder turning apoplectic at that response, but helpless at intimidating the individual.
Even better, it happens because the asshole elder (“asshelder”?) loses his cool, makes his accusations, and gets his response all in front of a bunch of shocked congregation members.

The Governing Body - Both sides of their coin
by Ron.W. inhow many can you think of.... they speak for god.. it would seem presumptuous to say they speak for god,.
they are neither inspired nor infallible.. they are god's only channel for issuing truth here on earth.
they won't be apologising for any errors/falsehoods they have promoted in the past that fail.. congregation members must be quick and apologise for their errors to avoid harsh discipline/disfellowshipping.. when they change a major belief/doctrine you must not complain or criticise them.

Changed behavior of the governing body on the topic of “vaccinations” in the Covid era
by Pedro ini'm looking for an explanation why the gb has made a radical change on the issue of vaccinations.
was there pressure from outside?
were there any financial or other benefits to promoting experimental genetic therapy?.

hoser - “…Just like Al Capones criminal mafia organization…”
Yup.
Don’t fuck with federal revenue agencies.
The moment they figure your grift, they’ll want their cut.
(not being sarcastic, BTW)

I think I remember that episode.
Wasn’t that the one where the dope gizmo in Garak’s head stopped working, he went into withdrawal, and confessed to helping a bunch of innocent kids escape his superiors?

WT loyalists tend to be a tad outdated when comes to fashion, cause they’ve always worried about looking faddish.
Maybe we’ll see the occasional mullet. 😏

Taken with everything else we’ve observed the past few years, it all but proves conclusively the theory that the WTS’s business model is dependent on tax-exemption, and what’s more, its time stamp indicates it has for a while now, and asset liquidation ain’t cutting it, anymore.
God. Damn.

JW sign is the sacred cow being idolized by the JWs
by enoughisenough inthis video makes valid points and the last pictures in the video says it all imo...i knew witnesses who wore the logo in their jewelry.
the sign represents the organization, so the organization is what is really being worshipped instead of god almighty.

@ GrreatTeacher…
Cute.
You know damn well it’s a Borg cube from Star Trek.
😁
EDIT: Even my wife LOLed at that, and she’s, like, the toughest audience I’ve ever known.
