I gave him the benefit of the doubt back in the day… even offered to contribute op-ed work for his website.
He declined.
Guess I dodged a bullet, there.
i remember him on this site when he was called cedars and had jw survey.. straightaway i noticed he could not accept suggestions.. the time i knew he was dangerous was when his group aawa added people to their fb group without their permission and were outed.. he refused to close the fb page (whilst celebrating 1300 members joining in a few days).
one member complained and was subsequently disfellowshipped, which could easily have been avoided.. three week's after launching, the fb page was closed down.
from that moment i knew james lloyd evans was dangerous.. when did you realise he not good?.

i hear of a plenty of personal testimonies of abuse but it is harder to prove organizational complicity.
.
“That the problem is widespread, institutionalized, and endemic…”
So widespread, institutionalized, and endemic, in fact, that…
a) …the problem has spread all the way from the lowest to the highest positions in the entire WT hierarchy…
b) …the methodology in dealing with it is ingrained and standardized to the point that any deviation threatens to destabilize the entire organizational structure, and…
c) …in terms of internal discipline, they’ve had to minimize its severity just to have enough male members available to keep everything functioning (in the face of fewer and fewer “qualified brothers” being interested it “reaching out”).
Its a Perfect Storm.
i hear of a plenty of personal testimonies of abuse but it is harder to prove organizational complicity.

EasyPrompt - “…why were they trying to avoid discovery as regards the relationship between the Watch Tower of New York and the Watch Tower of Pennsylvania or the way the organization worked in prior years? What were they trying to hide? What were they afraid of revealing?”
That the problem is widespread, institutionalized, and endemic…
…which too deeply undermines the premise of “God’s Exclusive Earthly Organization”…
…and I think they would sell their souls to maintain that.

a level 3 sex offender who moved to springfield and secured a role with the jehovah’s witnesses religious organization is now in prison.
jay aaron smith, 62, was sentenced recently in hampden superior court to 15 years in prison for several counts of indecent assault and battery on a child.
hoser - “ They lied about not reporting as well... They told the media they reported but in fact didn’t… Do jws think the police are stupid?”
They said they reported it to the “authorities”.
They didn’t say which authorities, how they define the word “authorities”, or if the authorities they reported it to were even valid.
So, technically, they didn’t lie per se… they simply attempted to tell “the truth” in a way that would cover their asses and lead the folks questioning them to come to a mistaken conclusion.
Yes, it’s deceptive, corrupt, and shitty…
…but it’s not technically a lie.
Oliver North would have been so fucking impressed. 😏
And, also, yeah, they might think the cops are stupid.

If not explicitly “covering up”, then at the very least, making it as difficult as possible for secular authorities (and more importantly, the rank-and-file)…
…to fully grasp the scope of the problem.

When a breakaway, contrarian religious group is told it should be doing something, it’s almost guaran-fucking-teed to do the opposite.
If “The World” zigs, the WTS wants to zag… the tendency is practically baked into the Org’s DNA at this point.
.....and bethelites, c.o.
etc., because they are all acting disorderly by being parasites on the backs of their fellow christians!
(according to the inspired scriptures).
Considering the highly unethical actions they constantly take in “defence” of the Org, and the countless times they’ve had to change doctrine after the fact…
…while at the same time making some of the most gobsmacking (ideology-based) blunders that no cynical strategist would commit, I can only come to one conclusion.
They know it’s wrong…
…but believe it’s true…
…at the same time.
the watchtower—study edition | july 2023. study article 31.
“be steadfast, immovable”.
he tells his doctors that he's a jehovah's witness, and refuses a blood transfusion if needed during surgery.
Suddenly, I’m picturing Linda Blair in scrubs. 😏
a few old timers on here often refer to the dumbing down of the jw organisation.
what examples can you think of from over the years?
(i ask as an interested outsider who was never in).
joe134cd - “…‘WT has always encouraged using the internet for evangelising’…‘WT has never had an issue with growing beards…”
“…Oceana has always been at war with Eastasia…”
blondie - “…As to going ‘bankrupt’, I'm sure the WTS will have a way to semantically find a way to avoid that word…”
What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall at that brainstorming session. 😁
