Here’s a couple more of my favourites:
“Everything bad you hear about us is false! Even the stuff that’s true!”
“Every idea we have is a blessing from God! Even the stuff we cribbed from Satan’s World!”
how many can you think of.... they speak for god.. it would seem presumptuous to say they speak for god,.
they are neither inspired nor infallible.. they are god's only channel for issuing truth here on earth.
they won't be apologising for any errors/falsehoods they have promoted in the past that fail.. congregation members must be quick and apologise for their errors to avoid harsh discipline/disfellowshipping.. when they change a major belief/doctrine you must not complain or criticise them.

with what is arguably the biggest change to jw life in recent decades (the scrapping of publishers counting hours) what does this lead to?.
in my mind these are the results;.
1) a massive decrease in 'preaching hours'.
Apathy… burnout… Covid… dwindling finances… litigation…
…the hits keep coming.
annual meeting 2019—talks and 2020 year textthe governing body members are nothing but a bunch of weasels.
here is a talk by jeffrey jackson on how the governing body ''the slave class'' has remained spiritually awake over 100 years and alerted its members.. he looks back on the ''faithful and discreet slaves'' false dates over the 100 years: '' but at times, we look back over 100 years, and there were times they got excited about a certain year or time, and the end didn't come at that time.''.
he makes the comparison between the ''slave class ( who disappointed others when the end didn't come ) to a barking watchdog ( who in his enthusiasm barks at nothing in the middle of the night and wakes up the owner).

Corrected for grammar, punctuation, and above all, accuracy.

on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
For some reason, every time I read this thread title, I keep picturing Top-Shelf in a red-and-white-striped sweater-and-toque ensemble…
🤔
interesting new legal protection:.

So… is this our inevitable future?
And, if so, where can I find a flame-throwing electric guitar?
🎄 just thought this not former/vidiot back & forth deserved it's own christmas special !!!🎄.

Thank you… thank you… I’m here all week.
😁
prompted by a mention in a different thread.. cracks in the sidewalk, a pinch of salt over the shoulder, black cats🐈⬛; do jws have such superstitious beliefs.
are they allowed to?
would they be counselled if the elders became aware?.
“Demonic” record albums that wouldn’t burn were the stupidest thing of that era…
…FFS, they were vinyl.
Which burns super-slowly.
And don’t even get me started on “backmasking” 🙄… I was relieved when CDs entered mainstream use, just so the Satanic Panic brigade would finally have to shut up about it.
so, first the turning in time got axed, now beards are okay, what is up next?
women wearing dress slacks to the meeting?
birthdays becoming acceptable?
I thought denim skirts looked cool.
there're the obvious ones, like the smurfs.
although why still escapes me.
was it because of the magic, that they were "magical creatures", that there were wizards, etc?.
I remember some loyalist JWs were fucking terrified of the occult back in the day.
I didn’t realize until much later that they were likely…
a) …ex-hippies who’d had really bad trips…
b) …undiagnosed schizophrenics, or…
c) …poor anxiety-prone folks who were dealing with sleep paralysis and had no idea what it was.
