  i've seen people say something along the lines that the authorities would like to/have been trying to subpoena (members of) the gb (in csa cases).

  my question is: why don't they?

  if the gb are issuing orders to cover up evidence in csa cases, and otherwise interfere in justice being served in those cases, then they are accessories before (and after) the fact, and theoretically can be arrested and charged as such.

  A lot of the stories we’ve heard here have detailed just how severely fucked-up some of the SCA-related JCs have actually been…

  …ten bucks says the loyalists put in charge of the “investigations” would dutifully obey any marching orders, not just because they’d knee-jerkly defend the Org against any threat, real or imagined…

  …but go way beyond what was necessary or decent, simply because the vast majority of ‘em, as loyalists, wouldn’t want to consider just how deep that rabbit hole went, and were fucking terrified of just how bad it might actually be.

  Makes me wonder if sometimes the GB have occasionally been specifically and deliberately not told some things (for whatever reason).

  It wouldn’t be difficult…

  …after all, they’re surrounded by folks who are never really allowed to disagree with them.

  It’s not much of a stretch to think that some of the less-scrupulous (or naive) types might be tempted to use that as a pretext to simply refrain from telling them certain details, even if only to give them “plausible deniability”.

  Reminds me of something…

  …a recent (alleged) leaker briefly mentioned that the Service Department - under the authority of Ted Jaracz - was primarily responsible for the CSA problem getting out of hand, rather than the GB as a whole… and that Jaracz’s name can indeed be found in the Database as an offender, which is expected to be exposed to the general public sooner rather than later…

  …so basically, the fox was put in charge of the henhouse, but not permitted to scrub his own name, so he essentially weaponized the two-witness rule to keep his own alleged acts under wraps, resulting in the problem becoming widespread, institutionalized, and unfixable under the current system.

  Another professed (albeit second-hand) source said that the GB as a whole were never really made fully aware of just how bad the problem was until around 2015, when the Org was required by court order to fully consolidate, collate, and relinquish all the documentation the SD had accumulated…

  …and that specific task took a heavy emotional toll on the poor buggers who landed the assignment.

  on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

  a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.

  in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

  I heard second-hand that he was “privately reproved” for indeed refusing to go along with the GB majority decision for the Org to follow the advice of rebranding consultants and attempt mainstream reform (or, at least, the appearance of it), with alcohol abuse as a pretext contributing factor.

  Apparently, he’s actually missed by a number of Bethelites, because (rhetoric notwithstanding) he was actually quite nice and approachable in person.

  Assuming this info is legit ( and I actually think it is), I can’t bring myself to feel too schadenfreude-ey, despite any alleged resistance to organizational improvements.

  The initial attempts to Stalin him out of existence on JW-dot-org always seemed a bit overkill, and I have a hard time holding grudges against folks who haven’t hurt me personally.

  hi does any body know if the watchtower are printing any new awakes etc as these past 8 months or so i have had magazines from four different carts from four different towns 100s of miles apart and the most recent magazines that they all had were from 2021..

  i been reading quite a few experiences on reddit lately, and their seems to be a common theme coming up….

  …dialed-up-to-eleven shunning of xjws by their witness relatives.. it reminds me of back in the day, listening to some of the over-the-top vitriol displayed by hard-core loyalists when the topic of evolution or apostates came up….

  …i was gobsmacked when i finally realized these guys weren’t offended and indignant because they thought it was lies….
