i cant give any more details than this because of my family members who are devout jws.
i cherish a larger picture in my heart without anybody knowing ittrue worship means love and compassion, (luke 10:25-37) not belonging to any organization or having a set of belief system!
A big welcome to you !!! I wish all JW's would think like you. If they did, I bet people here would not be as angry with them. How do you feel about the blood doctrine ? Shunning and blood are two of the top things that cause people to be angry. I would be angry too if I lost my family. Or a loved one died from no blood .

i am pretty annoyed to read/hear them saying that they are the true christian religion because they preach, follow the bible bla..bla..bla... let's list down the things in the bible that they don't follow/do.
i'm sure they are plenty.. the fruits of the holy spirit, that's for a start.. .

Taking care of widows and orphans......... I hate what they did to my 89 yr. old mom. They used her for 59 yrs then kicked her to the curb.

i cant decide if i want to curse or hug and kiss all the friends on jwn for giving me a bite of the red pill and allowing me the clarity i never had growing up.
we were raised one hundred-percent cult and our family obeyed all the rules that we could, some rules from the cult my mother refused to obey for a greater-good, like humanity, helping disfellowshiped ex-jws who were poor or depressed, she did not follow the cult's code of treating weak or mentally ill people like shit.

well, my 89 year old jw mom has been in her new apartment now for over 4 months.
my sister and i moved her back to mi.
from fl.. we were forced to by the jw's who wanted to commit her.
So far she has not said anything bad about the JW's. She just does not talk about ANY JW stuff at all. It's like when she left FL she left being a JW.
She is just not interested in it any more . Who knows what the future will bring. I remember reading a post about a mom that was in a nursing home, she forgot she was ever a JW and was having so much fun at a birthday party.
The whole thing is very strange because I don't know if it's a brain thing, a stumbled by the way she was treated, or some of both ????

Update on my mom. She has still not went back to the KH. She just got her MI drivers license. My sister took her out and she bought all new living room furniture. A few weeks ago she went for a day at the Toleto OH zoo. She is just too tired to go to the meeting. lol I wonder,Sherry is this part of her Dementia? Is the change in her brain making her not want to be a JW ? Maybe she is just stumbled .When she found out it was not the loving ORG. she was told over and over it was, she just gave up ? Even I was shocked by the way they treated her, can you imagine how she felt? My poor mom, if only she was a Catholic things may have went better or her............lol

ours is on thursday which kinda sucks when a long weekend comes along..
All my life from 0- 16 was friday.........it sucked big time.......no wonder I.....oh never mind
i was really turned off by the segment of the meeting dealing with the watchtower's bible collection.
i thought i was at the antique road show on pbs.. what was that all about?
it was so bizzarre for these "annointed" ones to get off on collecting these old printed bibles.. you can get excellent scans of just about any historical document.. looked like a personal hobby of sanderson the nararator.. there is something idolatrous and at the very least a sick display of the hoarding instinct in the glee coming from getting their "paws" on these treasures.. what a disappointment to see a religion started by people who wanted to abandon all earthly things and join christ in the air, fawn over these relics carefully preserved as a memorial they can fondle.. are they really in the museum business now?
My thought was........just trying to copy the Catholic church ......again !!
the whole time i lived in colorado, i had the dubs come by once and leave a tract.
but since moving to california, they are at my door so often i asked them to put me on the "do not call" list.
this did not stop them, in fact i have asked four times, plus once i called the kingdom hall and left a message, they still come, the last time this past saturday.

okay, perusing the threads about the special meeting and new bible, i see that the new bible is gray.. gray?
gray?
as in - dull?
I like the gray...in fact gray is one of my favorite colors...lol What I don't like is a bright green bible on my shelves, it does not go with my decor.
I think the only good looking book they ever made was " The greatest Man " IMHO Sherry
