"The Invention of Lying" it's a lighthearted movie, and it has an interesting take on why religion started in the first place.

Are there any Watchtower prophesies that came true?
by TTWSYF ini know that the failed predictions of amageddon for 1914, 1918, 1925, during wwii, and 1975 have been well documented here and other places, but are there any [documented] 'prophesies' that actually came true?.

I was wondering about the April 1 1972 Watchtower. To me it plainly states that they considered themselves phrophets. Is anyone familar with this?
You can google it, I'm intrested to know how they explain this.

Did you have a relationship with...
by stillin9 inwhen you were in the org, did you ever really have a relationship with jehovah?
if so, how did this relationship manifest itself?
was it just a warm fuzzy feeling when you prayed?

Am I wrong or would I have better chances for "Paradise earth" if I had never been exposed to the so called "Truth"?
by KristiKay ini was listening to a guy on youtube, (21 crosscheck 21) and i thought he brought up a pretty valid point.
he says jws should stop preaching immediatly because according to them if i've never heard the "truth" then god would read my heart and i would be resurrected and given the chance to live forever.
so basicly if some idiot knocks on my door trying to tell me the "good news" and for whatever reason i slam the door in their face, i've just condemed myself to eternal nothingness, but if they never came to the door in the first place, i'd be ok, or at least given the chance to pet lions forever?

This pisses me off... As a person who is trying to search for some kind of intellectual reasoning for religion, you come across this kind of person who claims to have this expierence, and you know it's completely fabricated. So then I think, what is their intention? Do you need attention from an anonymus board? I don't get it, some people are really looking for ansewers, and when you post stupid shit, it makes me think there's no authentic expierences, you remind me of those people who claim to be abducted by aliens... Whats your point?

Earthquakes....
by SatoriCE inthe topic of earthquakes marking the "last days" was brought up with interactions i have had with a few different witnesses.
can someone please explain the exact significance of earthquakes that jw's have?!
can you please also include any links to actual facts that contradict their views of earthquakes.

I looked it up a while ago, there are more RECORDED earthquakes now because there are something like 8000 stations that record them, compared to something like 40, one hundred years ago. That might not be the exact numbers but something like that.
