My aunt needs help writing to her JW daughters
by beth_ inso, my dh and i have only known since october that the jw's don't have "the truth.
" we're both born ins that were never zealous, but never questioned it either.. my grandma converted when my aunt was pretty young, so she was brought up as a jw from age 5 or 6.. i just found out last week that after her marriage broke up about a year ago and then she moved away, she also figured out the truth about the religion.. anyway, her daughters are young adults and are gung ho jws (even though they weren't brought up that way really).
even though my aunt/ their mom isn't df'ed, they told her they can't have anything to do with her because they can't approve of her new lifestyle.

Maybe abuse is not endorse in the WT text or from the platform. The culture endorses it.
You hit the nail on the head... WT culture endorses all manner of things, it may not come from the platform, but somehow there is a unity on how children should be trained and how families should behave (like victorians in that children should be seen & not heard) ... This is the bit that those of the World just dont understand. They simply keep believing that JW's are clean upright people who are so lovely, and wouldnt behave like they do... Little do they know...

current JW tagged in pictures in Xmas and Birthday parties on FB
by James_Slash inhad to laugh when i saw this.. a current jw who i know on fb was tagged in photos showing him at a christmas party a few days ago.
within minutes of them landing he removed the tags because obviously these would have been seen by other jw's on his page.. when i asked him why he'd removed them he said: "i was off work sick and i didn't want my colleagues seeing me on the razzle".

Facebook can get you into sticky situations.... Thats why around 2 months ago I blocked all known JW's from my friends list. For those that I know are equally living beneath the radar I currently refrain from posting on there wall (because Im currently dressed up in a Santas costume and my posts would be seen by other JW's if I commented on theres).
Anyhow life under the radar will shortly come to an abrupt end, now that I have fully decorated the exterior of our house... As per hairhegoats post today (my hubby) an elderly brother was visibly seen walking up our path and then about turn and scurry off at unusual speed away again... No doubt to dob us into the elders ....bring it on !!!

i wasn't happy going to meetings as i always felt worthless and everything i did wasnt good enough.

by Hairyhegoat inbrother numtea called round today to drop of the latest cancer filled ragazines, we never know when he's going to turn up.
i was looking out the front window and spotted him walking up the drive.
then just before he pressed the door bell he about turned and sprinted back down the road, no mean feat if your an old man and there's snow and ice everywhere !!!

The Blood muddle
by leo999 ini could do with some help to sort out this fraction muddle .we are inactive and of the conscious class , but trying to help others see the 'light' in whatever ways we can .. a couple of years ago , i asked an elder about the fractions , questioning particularly the 33% hemoglobin allowed in the 06 km insert .
when i was a wee girl growing up , nothing of any part was allowed and we were fanatical to even write manufacturers and question their ingredients !!.
i would like to have a list of allowable fractions according to the societies current light , and also what fractions are not allowed .

Regarding you saying it wrong to claim that JW children didnt get their childhood immunizations because of the BORG's say so then you're wrong.. My brother-in-law got hooping cough and was seriously ill. If it wasnt for the BORG he would have been immunised...

I just participated in my first Christmas activity today
by sd-7 inthere was a 'white elephant' gift exchange at my job today.
i finally got involved, for the first time ever.
(i couldn't last year because i needed plausible deniability, as i was still a jw on paper at the time.

My youngest daughter went to the Schools Christmas Church Service today. She actually thoroughly enjoyed it... She really enjoyed singing the Xmas songs, especially the Little Donkey Xmas song too. She was also rather pleased with herself when she was able to give her class teacher an Xmas present too...
I am feeling a deep sense of pride & satisfaction in that she had such a lovely day... and to think this morning I seriously thought about not sending her in today, because I didnt want her to sit through what I thought would be a mindlessly Boring 1-2 hours religous service..... Im so glad it wasnt...
I find it amazing that my daughter enjoyed going to a (C of E) church service & that she loved it... What a far cry from the BORING JW meetings. It just makes me realise that if the JW's were right, the kids would have loved going meetings... Instead it was as though they were living in a victorian era. The children had to be seen and not heard.
That so called religion has a lot to answer for....

I slipped under the JW radar just one year ago. I wasn't happy going to meetings as I always felt worthless and everything I did wasnt good enough. Well having managed to miss a few meetings, I thought nothing of sneaking a look at apostate websites. Once I did I rapidly made progress and woke up to the Truth & The Real Truth Set me Free... !
Okay, I'll admit my emotional freedom wasnt immediate. I had months of total confusion, feeling lost & isolated, anger, hurt & numbness. Then to top it all, I developed a total unhealthy 'Fear of death', (because of the reality that Armaggedon wasn't coming) ...... It left me a walking fruitcase and very close to an emotional breakdown....
Yet 1 year on, I have managed to spread my wings and have developed emotionally and socially in so many ways I didnt think it possible - Well today I officially went into partnership and me & a very good friend (never a JW) are setting up a business. A business grant is in place, & so is everything else thats needed to make it possible.... :)
Well I just had to share this with you, coz to be frank Im bouncing off the ceiling, and I'm sooo excited. I am actually wearing a big Cheesy Grin... This has to be the first time in my life!!!
As a JW I would never has thought of doing anything, because it was a waste of time. The end was coming and all our energies needed to be exerted in Jehovahs Service... Well not any more. I'm doing something with my life and Im sure having fun.
I give a lot of thanks to another xjw forum that I have frequented & to this site too.
