Slaving for the Borg I felt that somehow all my efforts would make up for my indiscretion and that my earnest efforts were earning me brownie points & making me clean & an upstanding JW ..
Yet I never ever felt clean & always felt disgusted with myself ... It affected my married life for years...
God do I feel such a FOOL :(

Yes. And those JW's that did fornicate carried Years & Years of Guilt & Deep shame with it !!!! (Even after they had decided to tell the elders 3 years after marriage & faced a judicial committee...! Aaarrrggghhh)
I for one felt that the scripture about 'Sinning against the Holy Spirit applied to them & that there would be no forgiveness of sins' ... I was Very unstable for a good 10 years, and am only just gaining some stability back having found out the Truth is a load of Cr*p! ... I HATE the JW's for screwing up my mind and allowing me to live a life hating myself !!!! I will take a long time for me to feel I've got even with them
good morning.... on jan 3rd i posted that my son had recently contacted me and that i needed advice.
well, i need advice... again.... i have been very cautious about speaking with my son (a jw) about anything religious and have even been careful about talking with my daughter-in-law (who is catholic) about religion, but in a conversation i had with her a couple of weeks ago we had our first "real" conversation which included talking about why i left the jws and learning more about her faith and perspectives.
i did not intend to get into "religion" with her, but it was the normal flow of the conversation, since she is a very devout and active catholic and through her own reading before we even talked she had come to the conclusion that the watchtower is a cult (her words).
She has freeness of speech. If she wants to discuss JW's then carry on. He has to realise he can't control & manipulate her actions or that of yours. It is his free choice to cut you out of his life but he simply cant dictate that for everyone !
i remember whilst being on holiday my jw inlaw, him looking at me with utter disgust that simply because he couldnt see images such as these, he felt that they were demonic & therefore i should not be having anything to do with them.
he said in no uncertain terms that i was to quit touching the unclean thing.. i was allowing satan into my mind !!!

it is so strange how once you distance yourself from your kingdom hall and friends, that they find it necesary to discuss and contemplate your departure and put out all kinds of statements that simply are not true.. i am licking my wounds today because some kind of nasty things were said about me to a friend of mine who is df, from her ubber righteous sister.
it was via text, so it was there to read.
the thing i can't figure out is i have nothing to do with this woman.
JW's are more gossipy, critical than anyone else I know.
Prior to being JW, it never occurred to me to criticize others for their flaws or to say anything about the things others said or did. No sooner had I become one, then I became incredibly critical, a terrible perfectionist & I did my very best to find out about everyones business. Not that I had to do very much digging or anything as the information was always readily available.
Towards the end of my JW years though, I'd had enough of listening to it because ultimately I knew it meant that everything I said or did also became public knowledge & I just didnt like it so I kept my head down & my nose clean... :)

i had a lot of anger towards them for a good amount of time.
but now, i like to think about the good times we had.
i like to think about their attributes i admired.
Some I really pity and others I absolutely despise. One sister has ignored me for sooo many months that when she said hello yesterday I was in total shock. Im guessing she is just warming up for her up and coming inquision! She wasnt able to do that yesterday purely because I was chatting to a school mother... I'm ready for the nosey cow !
