Inactive ones are treated with suspicion and don't expect to be invited to social gatherings. Not that any inactive one would like to be in the midst of mindless robots.
IT'S best for inactive ones to keep their mouths shut as to what they know about the history and scandals of the WT. Just respond with kindness when the elders call and let them know you're going through situations that require you to work extra or spend time with caring for the family.

The OT god sanctioned killing, taking revenge on enemies, yet Jesus taught to turn the other cheek and be forgiving.
OT god said it's OK to have slaves, beat them up (as long as they don't die within 3 days) Yet Jesus preached humility.
The OT god sanctioned poligamy, kidnapping women and rape (Deut chaps 20-22) Yet Jesus preached the golden rule of doing unto others...
OT god blessed his servants with wealth yet Jesus preached a simple eye.
It is very traumatic to accept the reality that what we have been taught to believe all our lives was just fables and myths. So our confirmation bias kicks in and many dismiss or ignore the reality that the Bible and all religious scripture for that matter is the invention of imperfect men. The contradictions are too glaring.

hi on the jw broadcast site they have about 5 days ago put up a special video about how people should fogive and if they dont they will become bitter.
do you think the watchtower know how many court cases around the world they have got coming up this coming year .
WT preaching forgive and forget? Doublespeak and hypocrisy sneaking it's ugly head again.
1. Every branch office has a "service department" where they oversee the disfellowshipping of those that they decide not to forgive. The records of their sins are filed and saved in that department indefinitely. This dept also helps elders with the disfellowshipping process. Is this showing forgiveness and forgetfulness?
2. Any JW that speaks about the hypocrisy and double standards of the WT are disfellowshipped and their reputation disgraced.
3. JW's are instructed to shun and treat as dead any former member that no longer agrees with the arbitrary doctrines & policies of the Organization.
4. Congregations have a "judicial committee cases" file where records of Disfellowshippings and Reproofs are saved indefinitely.
5. The WT continues vilifying other religions as hypocritical, they also vilify the C.T. Russel's wife Maria and they continue their abusive one sided denunciation of the 4 directors that were against having 1 leader in JF Rutherford. BTW Rutherford called the police on the 4 majority members of the Board of directors.
6. Former members that have realized that this religion is a complete scam and ran by delusional men pretending to be the Apostles of Christ in our day are called Apostates, mentally diseased, proud, haughty and JW's are told not to even say Hi to them.

Once I accepted the fact that god doesn't exist and sure doesn't care (if he exist) what the hell we do in our life, I was cured of my Obsessive Compulsive behavior and anxiety.
I lived in constant fear of offending god and if my thoughts were acceptable to him as I didn't want to hurt his feelings or make him feel sad. This in turn made me to actually have bad thoughts and that in turn made me feel guilty and depressed.
I guess religious coercion and guilt affect people differently.
Just enjoy life, respect your neighbors, their opinions, love your family, work hard, get educated, be honest and fair in your dealings with others and as long as no one gets hurt, accept others differences.
The WT and similar cults produce toxic traits in humans.
I have never been happier since reaching those conclusions.

Just like today marrying an unbeliever, going to college is not a df offense but is looked upon in a very bad light and as spiritually weak, so was marriage and childbearing. Many oldtimers still hold this view albeit privately.
Both Russel and Rutherford had failed marriages and wanted others to be miserable as well.

Nice to hear from you again. I have enjoyed your insightful posts about your Gilead and missionary experience, your lifestory going through the ranks, the situation with your late brother, your wife....all were very revealing about the toxic environment the jw cult produces. When we hear the testimony of those in special positions, it confirms that the problem is not with the doubts or that we're evil and we need to adjust our thinking but instead the problem is with the cult leaders.
