  this is a quote from pathofthorns on that really long thread with several different topics.

  i liked it so much that i thought to start a new thread about it.. instead of "hanging in" for the "end" to come, enjoy doing what you can to change things now in your life for the better.

  do what you can and what you need to to be happy, and when the "end" comes, you'll have made the wait so much better in the meantime.. the society has oft told us that pursuing activities of charity other than the preaching of the good news(their version only)is a waste of time since it is not leading people to god's organization, and thus to god's kingdom.

  Submission to authority

  one of the core beliefs that i hold is that the only hope for humanity is the willingness to submit to some guiding force.. witnesses would point to jehovah as being that guiding force.. as of now, i would point to love for others being that guiding force.

  one of the main differences i have with the witnesses is that they see god as a person with a personality and a planned agenda.

  i see god as a mindset that we either choose to be part of or not based on our willingness to submit to this idea of loving others.. are you willing to submit to any authority, whether an actual identity or an ideology?

  a few things why we want to live forever in paradise.. we all like animals.

  and that is why we will see them die over and over and over again.

  We all like animals. And that is why we will see them die over and over and over again. Our beloved pet live about 20 yours if not less. Every 1000 years you will see at least 50 of your own pets die. And we will not care what so ever because we will not experience pain.

  No pain. Eventually after thousands of years the memory of pain will fade and be forgotten. Eventually we will have nothing to compare to of how it is to feel good. No one accually knows or remembers pain, so how can we know it is bad?

  Eternal life on earth. On earth? It will only take a few million years for a human being to entirely explore and examin the world. Then what are we going to do? Earth will be like a prison. There is so much out there in space.

  Evil will always exist. You can't have good without the evil. Tell us, how else can we tell the diffirence.

  Rainforests will still be in danger! Even worse then before! When the earth will be fully populated there are a lot of Wathtowers and Awakes to print because we will all read them, or at least order them.

  Elders will still be able to molest your child. If not then why does Jehovah sometimes appoint an elder who was previously a childmolester and while he was an elder he was still molesting children?

  "First of all, I wish to inform you that in Cuba no individual or groups of individuals are persecuted or harassed for professing the religious belief of their choice, that religion is practised freely in our country and that religious texts are accessible to those who desire them. Even at this time, when Cuba is experiencing a special situation in which the effects of the economic, financial and trade blockade imposed on the country are worsening, the main religious publications, such as the Bible, have been imported and may be obtained at a reasonable price. Any previous situation arising out of incomprehension or restrictions has been completely overcome.

  In Cuba, there are 41 congregations of the Catholic religion and 51 institutions or associations of Protestant congregations. In other words, any religious association or association that fulfils the requirements laid down in the existing Act on the Registration of Associations may operate and is highly respected and supported as such. However, the religious sect of 'Jehovah's Witnesses', mentioned in your communication, has never submitted an application for registration since it does not fulfil the requirements established for recognition and has therefore not acquired that status.

  In our country this religious sect is an unlawful association, whose members are known for their anti-social behaviour and who, in many cases, even engage in incitement to break the law and in the desecration of patriotic emblems, since they regard themselves as foreigners in their own country. In cases involving the above-mentioned criminal behaviour, as occurred in some of the cases mentioned in your communication, the following articles of the current Penal Code are applied: article 207, paragraph 1 (Incitement to break the law); article 208 (Unlawful associations, meetings and demonstrations); article 210 (Possession of illegal printed matter).

  On the other hand, the right of citizens to practise the religion of their choice and to worship without any limitations other than respect for public order and the law, as established in article 54 of the Constitution, is fully respected.

  I should also like to refer to our note of 1 October 1990, in reply to your note G/SO 214 (56-4) of 25 July 1990 in which the legal and social protection extended to religions and religious beliefs is explained in detail.

  As you are aware, to question the implementation of the legal provisions in force in any State implies interference in its internal affairs; such an act is incompatible with international law and its rules.

  As may be seen, the allegations contained in the cases concerning which we were asked for information appear to form part of the campaign which is being conducted against Cuba, using the issue of human rights tendentiously and for political ends.

  not as popular as i once was.

  i was never a really loved member of the hall.

  i allways had to go up to people to talk to them, never the.

  other way around.. however i did have freinds, and was treated well by most people.. now it seems i am "marked".. i have been snubbed twice last week, and met two elders, and one ex-elder as well.. only one an old mate wanted to talk.

  If it turned out that JW's were right ...

  yes imagine if after all the struggle and effort to break fee of jehovahs witnesses it turnred out that they were right all along.. the governing body were getting messages from god and were being used by him , proof came out that evolution was false.they found noahs ark and ancient manuscrips were found that proved the bible true.. also lasurus was still alive and well living in siberia.. the next thing we know religon has been banned.. there are signs in the sky and strange phenomenon.. we look up and see the moon turned to blood and the sign of the son of man appears in the heavens.. next to him is a flying pig.. we realise pigs don't fly .. we wake up sweating.. it was all a dream.. releaved its all over we get up for a new day.. we open the curtains, allwe can see is fire and brimstone.. we hear screams of tourture.. satan laughs.

  Defining what or who the "Society" re...

  a post on h20 raised interesting questions regarding "the society", and one of the responses i found particularly interesting.. i don't think many witnesses actually understand what or who exactly the "society" is, they just know its some authority that they must listen to, on par with god.
