To thyne own self be true. Take the advice above and move yourself into a position so that when you can walk away, it will at least be the best time for you. No one wants you out on the street penniless. That has happened to young jws who come out too soon. You can read their horror stories on this website.

Is it wrong to stay in?
by confusedteenager ini feel like, i don't believe in the majority of what the gb teaches, but all of my friends and family are invested in this organization and i feel it would be easier on me to just play the part and continue going through the motions then try to leave right now.
is this taking the coward way out?.
i just feel like i wouldn't have much to look forward if i stepped away..

I was a wife of an elder, but we were unscripturaly divorced. I was blamed, because we were not allowed to share the details of our problems. I was shunned, left, remarried a nonbeliever, got df'd, etc. Later, after reinstatement, I was a low hour publisher, up until I abruptly left two years ago.

Wow, I seem to have made it out alright..
by GoodGuyGreg inhi, new member here, but i've lurked for a while.. for obvious reasons, i won't give too many details about myself, but i thought i'd share my story of what might in the end have been the easiest fade in recorded history.
it's going to be a wall of text, and i'm writing it mostly for myself to get it out of my system, but it is, of course, a pretty open forum, so any comments and most questions are welcome.. here goes:.
what made me realize ttatt was legalism.

New Release for 2013 District Assemblies
by RubaDub inan insider at bethel has confirmed that there will be a new book released this summer at the district assemblies.
the society is using some new technology called "current light.
" it allows them to print the book with certain parts in permanant ink (as has been historically used) while other parts of the book have erasable ink.. as i understand it, sentences that begin with words such as "evidently, apparently, obviously, it appears that, likely, clearly, doubtless" and numerous other phrases will be in a slightly different font so that the "current light" sentences can be easily changed when needed.. for example:.

SkyGreen is no longer one of Jehovahs Witnesses... Why?
by SkyGreen inwow it felt good to type that heading, if only it were officially true!.
i guess i dont want to dwell on "ttatt" too much, though i am now an inactive jw now, and will be forever, i dont want to be defined by that.
but i will certainly keep an eye on this forum, contribute where i feel i can, and i must say thankyou to those who moderate it and keep it running.

A little update on my family
by sooner7nc ina few of you may remember that my wife had a kidney transplant early last year.
since then the kidney has been incredible, giving her a new lease on life.
it's really been good to see the light in her eyes that i had missed for quite a long time.. the counterpoint to this good news is the problems we have had with our son coltin.

Back in the fold
by mariu ina few months ago, one of my best friends from uni times told me that his girlfriend of something like 20 years was leaving him.
she can't live with a non-believer...she wants to be a baptised jw.. i couldn't believe this crap is happening again.
turns out she grew up in a jw family, but parents separated when she was about 8 years or so.

Back when we were all still in, we would have used his experience to prove how Jehovah calls right hearted people into the organization.
Arent we glad we can see this as it truly is?

Newbie alert
by Braehead innice to meet you all.
long time lurker, but now i can get my twopenneth in.. a brief history.. born into the religion, but it never really took hold - thankful for an easily bored mind and strong, worldly grandparents.. never very interested - dragged from meeting to field service.
in the teenage years i wanted university and my parents want a pioneer.
