it's to their credit that many modern christians prefer the jesus of the gospels to the god of the old testament.. ot god is an embarrassment.
i am not going to list his multitude of moral crimes here but my personal favourite is his brilliant idea that a girl who is raped must marry her rapist.
it's not his biggest crime but it demonstrates a disregard for human feelings that is beyond the comprehension of every moral person.
This thread is why I don't start new topics on here unless it is an emergency situation. People are always bickering back and forth and hi jacking a perfectly good thread.
To get back to the original topic, we all know that Jesus said that he and the father were "one" and that they were "in union" with each other. Jesus is the "exact representation" of his father. We all know where he stands now, don't we. So Disowning the God of the Old Testament is NOT an option. Yes, that is correct.

conversation was calmed and pleasant and while i know she is not the most educated person (she can hardly read), its hard to justify it by saying is a matter of ignorance.
it is definitely something inside her that triggers on that very moment.. me: i don't know where all the money is going.
i saw this coming since my mother-in-law's funeral .... the congregation's "love-bombing" over my wife had its impact.
i watched her drawing closer and closer to her friends in the congregation.
then she decided she would attend the memorial.
I am also sorry to hear your wife is drawing away from you. I would advise using humor with her. When she gives you the evil eye or says something nastyy say "ouch!" If you can joke about being ignored and left alone while she's goes off to do JW activities, that would be good. Try to be light hearted, cute and funny. Draw her back to you by contrasting cult life with the fun she could be having with you.

what a crazy, emotional ride it is to finally face the truth about the doubts that i have carried for many years.
i know of the local congregation's issues, per an elder i know quite well.
he has said that nearly everyone in the congregation is suffering emotionally and mentally.
he said he has never seen so many witnesses with so many problems.

my father is one cold hearted judge mental, hypocritical, piece of s**t. i hate this religion and what it has done to my family!
i figure it's about time that i stop silently lurking around this community and actually add to the conversation, so here goes a first post.
a little about me-i was born "half-in", that is, my mother has been a witness for the entirety of my life whereas my father has never been.
i was an active part of the congregation (at least for what an unbaptized publisher can do) until i turned 18 and got an opportunity to attend a university (go school!).
i learned this past week that my wife is now awake.
i just shared the pbs newshour segment with her with no comment other than something along the lines of, "jw story on pbs.".
she is furious at the arrogance of these men.. thats what happens when you get a momma angry!.
