Technically, the Awake! and Watchtower magazines are not in the same category as other magazines, because of their marketing system. The Watchtower Society marketing process is delegated out to all the members of the religion who "obediently" to go door-to-door peddling those magazines. The religious order spends no money on paying those marketers. All monies collected goes right into supporting the religious order. So when anyone donates money to the peddlers, they are supporting the Jehovah's Witnesses religion. Thought you might be interested.

Must be one of those jw "bought-and-paid-for-commercials" like they did a while back about the wonderful preaching work that they perform, where the reporter went door-to-door with the jws...remember that one? Many thought they "made the news!" The jws were oooohing and awwwwing over their awesome god. Little did the jws know it was "bought-and-paid-for" space!!! LOL!!!

SAD news about OOMPA......

our friend, oompa, has passed away.

just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

Ooooh...first time seeing this thread. I'm so sorry to hear he left the planet via suicide.

Oompa, your pain is over now. RIP.

seriously, rod.henderson I had old books from forever, but threw them out when I moved out of the province. Now, I wish I would have kept them because they make great reference material in uncovering the corruption of the wt.

I especially like how they re-write their history when it embarrasses them!

has shunning been downplayed?

several times over the course of a year or so, jws from the kh i attended have been downright chatty during happenstance crossing of paths... .

wth is up with that?

i have no grudges against any of them, but it is confusing as all get out to have left the cult as an ardent supporter of my out, open, front page headlining transgender son, becoming vocally and decidely apostate knowing i was dead to them... now after at least a half decade out, to have them chummy-ing up to me in a check-out line.... frankly, i would rather they look the other way, you know, if none of them would ever genuinely want to know how my son is doing.

I moved to the west coast to get away from the peering eyes of those who shun.

I was hoping you had books to get rid of. I'm looking for the original version of the book "Faith on the March." The later versions seem to have the part about the early faithful Bible Students standing on the bridge in white robes, waiting for Christ's arrival removed.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

My book mentions this forum, jwfacts, silentlambs and a few other good sources of help for me while on the healing path.

"Crisis of Conscience" was one of the first nails in the coffin of jw-ville. Once I read that book, there was no turning back because the delusion had been broken through. After that, I could only see the society as a "book publishing company" and not any "god-ordained organization."
