  does anyone remember what year the word "servant" was replaced with "overseer" as in circuit servant overseer, district servant overseer ... and up the hierarchal lineage of the jws?.

  Dear AudeSapere, ShirleyW, blondie and Iamallcool,

  Thanks for your responses. All consistent! So that means the big switch --- from serving to being served --- happened while I was "outside" the organization, after leaving home and getting married --- but before getting sucked back in after I discovered I had married an addict and found myself pregnant and didn't want my kids to be addicts like their dad.

  Don't ask, you don't wanna know.

  I'm out now from all of the above and that's the important thing.

  i have been threatening to publish a book about growing up in the jw religion, then leaving as a mature adult.

  well, it's 368 pages and it's done!.

  Hi Clarity, It feels wonderful to have published my book. More than I imagined it would. I described my upbringing so that readers (even nonjws) could understand life inside the religion. Because a cult mentality is seriously twisted and very different from an authentic personality. Rather than "helping exjws," I have found that more nonjws than exjws are reading it by a huge margin! But the nonjws often have jw relatives that are causing problems for the rest of the family --- and that is why these nonjws are curious to know what is behind the chaos. They seem to be searching for an explanation. Another thing, some exjws still have jw relatives close by and don't want to get caught reading "apostate" literature. In my own situation, I had a lot of fear to work through before ever going public. I have quite a number of JW relatives, including an elder.

  Hi love2Bworldly, Thanks for your suggestions for marketing "Phoenix of Faith." It is helpful because after all I am doing my own marketing and distribution. You know, I had good training from the jws to get book sales! LOL!!!

  Got Accosted by 2 JW Women While Pumping Gas Yesterday - Weird

  minding my own business while pumping gas - this 60 year old short jw lady with fluffed bun styled 60's hair and her 30 year old attractive 5 ' 10 inch jw lady partner came straight up to me as i'm pumping.

  Wonderful anti-witnessing, Flipper!

  You know, when I was still "in" and heard about sexual abuse involving children, those stories really disturbed me, being a mom myself. I'll bet the JWs squirm often in service these days with the light getting brighter and brighter as a result of people like you!

  i started discovering the ttatt (the truth about the truth) last year after putting a few things together myself concerning the leadership and then doing some research online.. i really enjoyed jwfacts.com, jwsurvey, and others.

  Welcome aboard, TTATTelder!

  Crisis of Conscience was the book that helped me to see the light. Now, that's what I call New Light!

  After reading CoC I no longer saw the organization as led by Jehovah's Spirit. It became reduced to another man-made publishing company. Only this one had free marketers --- publishers --- raking in the cash and giving it all to the organization. What a racket!

  I've been out since 2000 and life has improved greatly!
