  Designs, your comment reminds me of one an elder made to me a couple years ago. He said that they were floored to be dealing with the problem in the first place and were bound to make mistakes.

  they haven't said anything about it as of the time of this post.. i decided to call the media department at this number (718) 560-5600. i identified myself as a researcher who also has some websites.

  yalbmert99, that's exactly what I was thinking. If they put up anything at all, it will most likely be an article that talks about how they "abhor" molestation and "have been at the forefront of exposing it." It will not specifically mention their loss or the recent case at all.

  there is not a single article that ties this holiday to paganism.

  I did a quick CDROM search on this holiday. There is not a single article that ties this holiday to paganism. There are a few about Mother's Day. The only mentions seem to be in groups of other holidays without an explanation, or in stories where an example is given of a Witness who does not celebrate it...for the lamest reason ever: "We should respect Father's every day...and we don't have to give them gifts just once a year."

  Anyone ever feel like a total retard giving that excuse as a kid about Christmas or Thanksgiving?

  Do you think that The Society handles child abuse accusations fairly? Or, do you think their policy is abusive? Or, are you somewhere in between those two points on the spectrum? Do you feel that the direction in the "Flock Book" and the July 1989 BOE letter encourages Elders to sweep instances of child abuse under the rug? How have your feelings evolved over time, if at all?

  I know some have stated their opinion elsewhere (i.e. SIAM), but it would be great to see it restated here.

  i haven't been on here much lately, but i read barb anderson's report on the court case in california the other day.

  nice to see the borg finally getting what they deserve.. anyway, the daily mail has done a story about it and at the end you can give your comments.

  i think there are a number of 'faithful witlesses' on there who are giving the "thumbs down" to any negative comments about the borg, including mine.
