New Ex-JW Documentary To Be Released
by discreetslave inabout filmtruth be told is a feature length documentary that explores the lives of several individuals raised in the jehovahs witnesses religion.
the title of the film refers to the tendency by jehovahs witnesses to regard their beliefs exclusively as the truth.. the documentary is not an indictment of religion but rather a retrospective.
in a series of informal interviews, former jehovahs witnesses discuss life experiences within the organization including the impact the religion had on their childhood and family, schooling, adolescence, and approaches to dating and marriage.

There is a donate link. Looks like $0.00 have been donated thus far. It says there are 83 days left for at least the fund-raising aspect of this film.

What age should you get baptized?
by newcomer1982 inas from today i am disfellowshipped.
my parents cant talk to me and alot of issues have arisen which i have mentioned in my other posts.
i got baptized at 14 and i think it is way to young to make such a decision which will affect your whole life.

Jesus was 30 but if you put me to it, I would say that might even be too young for some people. Needless to say, one should be an adult with an established life. Only then would they have the experience and wisdom to decide what to dedicate the rest of their life to.

New court docs for Menlo Park KH scandal
by Juan Viejo2 ini've been fighting computer problems for over a week, but i finally got a new article up at ex-jw.com about the status of the court case in san francisco.. the plaintiffs will be going to court this week and possibly again in ten days.
the big issue is the bank account statements and signature files.
plaintiffs claim that defendants opened up unauthorized bank accounts and allegedly forged the then current coboe / ceo's signature.

I'm surprised that a news-outlet hasn't picked this up yet.

Crossing a WT line- giving "apostate" literature to my friend
by RayPublisher ini had to do it- i gave my asleep jw friend a flash drive yesterday with ray's books, info on 607 vs 587, etc.
he knows i have "doubts" and that i've read these books but he has been cool about it and had already said he wouldn't rat me out.. so i figured i would take the next step now and give him the knowledge and see if he looks into it.
this is a lot more tangible evidence and if it fell into the wrong hands they would have plenty of evidence to try and df me but i don't worry any longer, they're only men.. keep your fingers crossed lol....

@RayPublisher
If he agreed with anything he read, he would likely bring it up. He's probably keeping his mouth shut because he's afraid if he talks to you much more about it, his conscience will eat him up and it will be the end of your friendship. Of course, it could be that he hasn't gotten around to reading it.
When I first got my hands on Crisis of Conscience, I was slightly afraid my eyes would melt out of my head while reading it.
After I "cracked the seal" and started sharing some information with my best friend, he couldn't keep his mouth shut about it. We talk about these things regularly. The first conversation we had was in the car out in front of his house. Afterward, he said to me: "Well, I'm going to go inside and get my sign ready for the District Convention."
I never initiate the conversation about JW matters though, because I don't want him to think he is being pushed by me to believe any particular thing. I think you are smart for leaving it alone. If he is interested in exploring, he'll read it and ask you questions. If not, hopefully he's good enough of a friend to allow your opinions and let you continue to fly under the radar.
Good Luck!

Shepherding Call Coming Up
by dontplaceliterature inwell, my wife and i are supposed to be visited by a couple of elders soon, as part of a "regular shepherding program".
i am a ministerial servant in our congregation and our circuit overseer has been busting the boe's chops each visit lately for not having a program in place for shepherding.
it was previously done on an "as needed" basis, but i guess he cracked the whip pretty hard on this last visit so they are going to try to get down to business.

As it turns out, these guys have yet to approach me about a date for "the call". I think mrquik hit the nail on the head. They don't want to do it.
Regardless of whether or not they actually follow up, my wife and I have both discussed this in more depth since my initial post. I just asked her if she wanted them to come here and she said "no". I also do not want them to come over for a Shepherding Call. So, I just asked her why we were even talking about it, "I'll just tell them we'll pass if they bring it up again."
The whole program is a joke anyway. I wonder how that will go over...

I am a big fan of the show. My wife says it's a soap opera with more realistic lighting.
