Someone knows the music playing? I think the music is more degrading (by JW standards) than the dance itself.

(I think it must take a sick personality to find joy when civilians are murdered. Witnesses must have flet true joy on Sept. 11th.)
I don't know what was the JW's reaction in America but I (and my entire congo) was very glad about the 9/11.
I saw it as the start of the Big A.
I saw non-JW's as dead people anyhow.
What an idiot I was...

What Happened to the Religion I Left in 1995?
by JoshJeffries injosh here, new to the board.
glad to know this site is here.. i would not be writing this if it were not 2014. i was a ministerial servant and regular pioneer who left the jehovahs witnesses back in 1995/96, around that time.
i left suddenly, didnt fade away, just left when something clicked one day in my head during the morning shower and made me realize this religion wasnt true.

(....great posts and GET OUT OF MY HEAD! ... LOL! ....Freaky to hear what were once my thoughts that I wondered if anyone else considered and now see them here in print from others.)
That's what happens when people use logic to understand the world. Logic unites us.
No matter what language you speak, where you live, race, culture, age, sex, etc... If you use logic (even a simple one like "two true statements can't contradict one each other") you will meet a lot of people with the same conclusions, not by following orders from someone else but by following a method that really works.
Feelings and emotions are too much subjective to be use as a practical compass in an objective world.
Feelings and emotions are unique to every individual and that's the reason cults like JW.org changes a lot. Because when old bosses die their feelings and emotions die together and since they don't use any objective pattern their doctrines are changed to other subjective ones.
Feelings are just fine to be used as art like music, painting, poetry, etc... but it sucks when used to set a way of life or to explain the world.
Ironically the JW.org pretends to examine a very subjective ancient book with logical thinking.
The JW.org does not like the artistic, organic religious feeling to be developed among its members. Like venerate some exquisite catholic imagery inside heavenly cathedrals or repeat mantras until your mind reach calmness...
They just call a WT "study" as a religious experience. WTF!

{John_Mann, I was in for about the same time, but starting from 1985. I would love to hear your story some time.}
But sadly I was a born-in.
I was baptized at 13 and left with 24. And still struggling to live a normal life...
A lot of people have a full decade brainwash.
I wonder if something related to subconscious mind making a strong reality check at every 10 years...
There's an old very interesting topic about the year 1995:

1995 IMHO is the year the dream was over.
1995 is the year of my baptism and the beginning of my screwed JW adolescence.
It would take ten years to break free from Watchtower.

Did Jesus preached to the dead souls of Noahs days?
by raymond frantz indid jesus preached to the dead souls of noahs days?.
in his first letter peter seems to imply that jesus immedaiately after his ressurection he preached to the dead souls of noah's days.in 1 peter 3:19,20 we read :"and in this state he went and preached to the spirits in prison,who had formerly been disobedient when god was patiently waiting in noahs day,while the ark was being constructed,in which a few people, that is, eight souls,* were carried safely through the water.".
the following post offers insight to these obscure verses ...(click the link).

Why Jesus would preach to demons?
It's senseless in any bible interpretation, specially in JW.org theology.
The demons ALREADY know the good news as is stated several times in the bible.
It would only make sense to preach to people who doesn't know the good news.
This verse is a hot potato to JW.org because it clears show Jesus preaching to dead people (in a kind of isolated limbo).

My Story: from JW Elder to Born Again Christian to Agnostic
by passwordprotected ini first posted here on 3rd june 2008. at the time i was an elder, appointed the previous october, i was 36 and i was a born-in.
at the time i'd become disillusioned with the society due to the governing body's letter explaining why the book study in private homes was being abolished.
april 2008 saw me start questioning this decision, privately of course, and this eventually led me to this site, to jwfacts and to many youtube videos, all of which began to errode my faith in the leaders of the organisation.. in july 2008, having discussed my doubts with my wife, i attended the district convention, deciding to give the society one last chance to convince me it was the truth.

{But I accept this fact as just the way it is. I have the power to change it, if I so choose.}
Words of wisdom.
Great experience. Thanx for sharing.
It's eerie how we can perceive a clear pattern among born-in's.
I'm following quite the same life pattern of yours:
* Born-in
* Ex-JW
* Mainstream evangelical christian
* Lost of faith in a god
* Sympathy of eastern religion/tradition/philosophy (buddhism, yoga, etc)
* Entrepreneurship
* Divorce
* Peace found in uncertainty
I would recommend to you to learn a lot about the theory of evolution and its several applications (in economics, computation, astronomy, psychology, etc..).

Jesus was a false prophet?
No. He never existed.
