so for the first time ever i went to a church service at my local church (coe) and i have to say it was awful!

A god like Jehovah certainly doesn't exist.

Maybe this universe was caused intentionally. Nothing prevents that. But is hard to accept a god who intervenes directly in the universe.

I understand the need of the concept of God. But the only healthy concepts are the traditional mainstream Christianity. A god who acts directly only after people die.

Many X-JW's turn to atheism because the Solar Scriptura adopted by WT. I think atheism is pointless. Agnosticism seems to be more practical.

Some people are born to be a JW. They just WANT to be a JW. It's not a matter of false or true to them. BTW there's a lot of people who just want to be evil. Sad but true.

i've never found dualism - the idea that the mind and the brain are two different substances with the mind being "immaterial" or "non-material" - a valid manner in which to address consciousness or any mysteries relating to it.

to show the reasons why i think it's bad metaphysics i'll use analogous reasoning to make a case for my newly made up "mystic essence".. for hundreds of years scientists have studied plants and animals all across the world.

but they still can't explain where ecosystems come from.

The development of strong AI will shed some light upon this. Maybe there is something like consciousness waves. I like the panpsychism hypothesis. I'm not advocating the existence of souls or the Christian God. I dont think an individual can exist forever because even in our lifetime we change drastically. But I think to be possible to have a conscious existence without clinical death. And I think it's possible to retrieve consciousness of dead people. In this universe nothing lasts forever but nothing is forever lost. I really think we are in a kind of simulation. And I don't trash the possibility of this universe had been intentionally created.
