  Jehovah's Witnesses or Watchower's Witnesses?

  i've often thought about it.

  are these people witnessing jehovah or the watchtower.. in the abscense of solid proof that god is backing the watchtower they are only witnessing a group of men who beleive they have god's backing.. .

  Former Longtime Elder - Reflections

  the meetings are getting more boring to me.

  some of the elders during their parts just talk and talk and talk about uninteresting things.

  Before I step down as a elder the last elder school I went to talk about this very problem. If my numbers are right there is about half the amount of elders now in the U.S. than there was 20 years ago. The same for the MS. The MS I knew did not want any part being a elder because they saw how over worked they were. That's why I think someday they may have to consider paying elders to do the job. I know this sounds dumb but todays borthers are getting smarter and they won't do any extra work like what a elder has to do and not get paid for it. Who today has time to work a extra 40 hours a week and not get paid for it. If you are lucky to have a full time job most are just to tried to work another 40 yours a week for nothing. Besides when I was elder the pub. always treated you like you was being paid to do that job. Totally ADD

  JW family trying to compensate for us being "spiritually weak" through increased activity

  hi folks.

  one of the things that has been most frustrating for my wife and i since beginning our fade as been the way certain family members have responded by ramping up their own involvement in the organization seemingly in a bizarre attempt to compensate for our lack of activity.. close relatives who were once doing precious little study and weren't going out of their way to attend meetings or go on the ministry are now studying every morning and busting a gut to attend "theocratic" arrangements.. it makes no sense to me, because salvation is supposed to be based on the beliefs and actions of each individual, not on those of his or her loved ones.

  just what is the logic by which they think they can make things better by doing more themselves?.

  Cedar. My wife and I think our kids who have not done anything in the cult for years are now going back in and trying to get right with god. Since we told them we are no longer part of the cult. For serveral years it was OK for us to say to them it's a cult and give them reason for it but when we tole them are no longer part of the cult and are going a diffrent direction all of a sudden this appears to have pused them back into the cult. Makes no sense at all. But this is what cult thinking does to a person. Totally ADD

  my mom's lover would bring his handsome youngest son, to our house, and along with my dad, would study with my brother, sister and i. wed 7 pm.. next an elder's wife, who was a regular pioneer and worked part-time, who had a daughter my age, came to our house, after school wed. ruth was the head of the house and wore the pants.

  her husband was part of the 3 men who sat on all judicial committees in our congo and would tell ruth everything, which in turn ruth would tell the sister's.

  ruth was very pious but at the age of 15 gave birth to her only child, and beat on her daughter all the time, never letting her forget what "trouble" her only daughter caused her.

  Man punkofnice I feel sorry for you. I to a born-in had a bad start in life also being a JW kid. My hope for you and will as me is to have some happiness in this life. I know the mental cloud be both have does allow some sunshine to come in. Don't give up. Life is to short but try to make the best of what we have left. One day I would really would like to meant you. Some how I feel we have a connection by our life expereinces. Take care of yourself. Totally ADD P.S. No one study with me I learned the cult by osmosis. I was a filter of crap. LOL

  I am so sorry Miss Fitt for what you went through. I to a born-in had the same thing happen. Just throw in the first 4 years of school the teachers also abuse me for being a JW kid. The one thing the Wt. always never talk about was how the children are affected by being JW kids in school. It has been my opinion for many years the children of JW are the ones that take the full brunt of pesecution while in school. While the zealous JW parents get away totally unscathed and their children grow up broken and messed up for life. This really should show us how much this is a Cult. If this was really the truth and god was watching over everybody this would not have happen. Instead it just exposes the Wt. policy on their hatred of children

  I remember telling a Cir. Overseer what happen to me when I was in school. All he could tell me was "it made a better person out of me". I looked him in the eye's and told him "so I guess if you break both of your legs that will make a better person out of you also." He could not answer me. I used to think it was me on how I felt but being on this board has shown me my story is not rare but unfortunately very common accruance. How sad. Totally ADD

  Do the WTS actually destroy all of your records if requested?

  hello, sorry for the multiple posts, but this has also been a question of mine to ask.. .

  does the wts actually destroy your files if you request them to after you get df'd?

  i honestly do not believe so, yet i feel as if you cannot call them on their bs if you do.

  because all the evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years... therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.

  I was 15 when that awake came out. My father was so happy to tell me not to have any friends in the world, don't worry about high school getting good grades, don't worry about any type of job that would support a family, don't worry about getting married or having children. I think what really made him happy was he no longer had to be responsible in raising me properly because the Wt. god told him so. Next year I will be 60 and guess what happen. A few months before he died back in 2009 he could not believe the Big A never happen in his lifetime. But like all good cult members never and I mean never did he question the Wt. god's. Now my brother who is 70 years old is waiting for the Big A to happen any day before he dies. The beat keeps going on. Totally ADD

  always apostasy?

  so i've been reading many posts and threads of people's experiences leaving the jw fold.

  i get the impression that many here were df'd or da'd due to apostasy.

  is there anyone here that found out ttat after being df'd for a reason other than apostasy?

  There are many that left and was not df or da. My wife and I walked away. I was elder for 25 years and my wife pioneer for 4 years. It took time for us to completely wake up but when we did we made a exit plan work towards it. So far no one has bother us about it. But that could change. But I am sure the apostasy brand would be but on us. Totally ADD

  Watchtower's fortune without any audit and given account

  the society has hit the jackpot with selling most of it's property in brooklyn, and some other prominent buildings outside the us.. so, they got an estimated $ 700 million dollar income and getting even more when they sell 124 columbia heights etc.. in total they will have then some $1 billion dollar on their bank and investment funds.. in the past questions about audit and giving account by the society about their finance, were answered "the brothers trust each other".. but now, the society has become a mayor financial player, this answer about trust is not enough anymore.. i asked my father about this and he told me "the money get a tag "world wide work and will be used only for good things, don't worry, trust them".. i told him that i don't trust them, because they act like a financial institute.

  he told me "we are getting big, it's all part of fore told the publishing work".. so, speaking with jw family and friends is allways a dead end... :(.

  Where does all the money go? Is someone getting to play with all that money? Is there some chosen ones who get to live in the lap of luxury? What do you do with all that money? Just save it? For what? I has to being used for something. Not just law suits and maz. Question I just don't know how to answer. Totally ADD

  2+2=5. That article shows how dumb the new earthers are. God made things to appear older than they were just to test our faith. He sure went through alot of trouble to keep us off guard. What a loving father he is. Could you imagine a parent setting up a scam like that to test their children to see if they are loyal or not to them?
