  DOC, that's a very good point, I agree with you we should not give our power back to the WT. What about if we all wrote letters out lining what we are unhappy about & disgusted with on a certain date but didn't actually DS ourselves, letting them know we are out there but not letting them know who we are. Don't forget these would be coming from around the world so we would need to have the whole month of September, we would have to be careful where we posted them from cause the post offices stamp them.

  A question for the shunned re: hide or seek

  so here's my question as a newly daed person that is summarily shunned.

  do you hide from family and act like you don't exist or do you let them know you're still here and seek them out?

  they want you to be dead, like you no longer exist, because strict avoidance makes it easier on them.

  @karios, that is sad but so true. the only time we ever saw them was when they want something I cant think off one genuine friendship between any of them.

  @Maksutov, I agree with what you say, it`s just validating their behaviour.

  @Dubstepped, If it was me I would choose to NOT send anything as hard as that may be, you will not change their perspective on the situation. You are wrong they are right, you will make yourselves the topic of gossip in the kingdom hall as they will proudly let every-one know that your sending things & it`s cause your either ashamed or you have no respect for Jah. You cant win mate, so do what you want to.

  is my eye sight going or are they all wearing badges? Are JW & Mormons joining forces? I feel sorry for these youngsters this is just unfair on them. Funny enough I watched that young couple Christian & Katja last night & they said you are working for the GB unpaid, they didn't say uniforms provided though.

  I wish you wouldn't turn everything into letters I cant understand the what your talking about. Sorry my brain just doesn't work that way. The other day I thought some-ones name was Dot, short for Dorathy , my husband fell about laughing & said it means Defender of Truth.

  So please can you tell me what BK means?

  Embarrassed, First let me say that you are a good person, you would not care that you lied at all if you were not good. Also what you are feeling is guilt not shame, they are different, shame is what others put on us guilt is what we ourselves feel from the inside. The unfortunate fact is that when we have been in the JW we only learn to have the values that they tell us to have. Yes some of them are good, like being honest with people, however you need to remember that WTBTS is hypocritical themselves when it comes to such matters.

  I would suggest that you start to learn about yourself about who you really are & who you really want to be. Example: The other day I bought a d.v.d. Spartacus, 18+, would never have watched this before cause the JW forbade it. I didn't watch the whole series because I discovered that I actually didn't like it. The over the top sex & violence was pointless, took away from the story made me feel brain dead. On the whole I found it lacked intelligence. The point is ME/MYSELF & I, worked that out on my own. Now I know for myself I don't like 18+ movies. So I wont watch them again.

  Sit down quietly think about your own true self & make a list of your own values. if honesty is something you treasure then start by being honest with yourself & forgive yourself for not being perfect. We all f..k up at times. Hope this helps.

  I love this it is a great idea, gives everybody something to look forward to.

  I love Islandmans & Warwick slaves idea to. Just to add, wether you sign or not, writing a letter printing it out 7 times & placing the name of each governing body member would give it the real personal touch. If only a 100 people did that it would be 700 letters.

  i bet jesus would have been df'd by the "elders" in his day.

  lets think about it, jesus hung out with "worldly" people.

  his closest friends were known prostitutes, money collectors, men of "prominence" in the world of that day, non "beleivers" of the "faith" like samaritans, and many others that todays "elders" would have deemed "unworthy".. jesus spoke against the "organization" and "elders" of his day.
