Label licker, Yes you do have a right to feel sad & angry & every one on here supports you. This has been a trigger for you that has brought back terrible feelings. Nerd in the brain, is not trying to hurt you personally & I have to say really has only one experience to speak of with the JW's. When some-one hasn't been exposed to the bigger picture (which isn't their fault) what else can they say. In general I find that in any organization there will be the righteous & unrighteous, then the small group of the GOOD who are more concerned with the un-justices brought on others more so than on themselves.
Nerd in the Brain, thank you for taking the time to explain yourself that was kind. I do hope after reading Label lickers experience you can find some room in your heart to understand her response. And may I suggest that you ask your friend to show you the October 2012 policies on chid abuse within the JW organization. Then you will have a better idea of which group your friends truly are in (righteous/un-righteous/good). You will probably find they don't know anything about these policies, because the top dogs in the org have a habit of lying by omission to the lowly members. I am glad that you have found some good friends wether JW's or no.

Xmas, yeah it can be nice with all it's pretty things & giving of gifts & I guess if you never got to celebrate it as a kid you may feel like you missed out on something. I think personally that just comes down to how good your home life is. I worked in schools, watched the rich kids talking bout all the presents they got, the look on the faces of the poorer ones was not a pleasant experience. Sure if you don't give a shit bout those poorer kids it wouldn't have mattered, but I did. Xmas is like everything else in life, it can be a happy time for some & a time of sorrow for others. I love the fact that so many organizations at that time of year put themselves out to help poorer families, provide shelter for the homeless, & make a xmas dinner for the hungry. They are the unsung heroes for this time of year. when JW's do things like that they can moan all they like. But they don't EVER. So they should shut their mouths. -

dont give them more power than they deserve.. here's why i say that, and i point this to those of you still in the congregation, still trying to decide what you want to do.. recently, our family had a little family reunion gathering of sorts, and we were in the company of some extended family that were either df or da, to varying degrees.
we made it very clear, to any and all in attendance, that we wanted to be respectful and kind, despite any previous perceptions about our "status".... and that our feelings on a lot of things had "softened", and "changed" over the last 2 years.. i am being purposefully slightly vague, but i think you get the point.

during my study of the 2015 article i recalled that we had just revised our understanding of the sheep and the goats a few years ago and this caused me to research the real progression of the jw understanding of this parable.

Wow what a great thread, I can see why they protect the child abusers & not the victims. They use the FS & donations as a measuring stick. The pedo's are loyal to the borg, the victims are not. The abusers who continue to do mino & pay large sums into contribution box are the sheep, the victims who speak out showing disrespect to their so called brother's, giving them a bad name are the goat's. That is basically it isn't it. They don't want people who try to display the qualities of Christ, they want one's that do what they are told to the letter by the Gestapo Body, even if it means children are being raped, women are being abused, dying through lack of medical care or suicide cause they cant take it anymore. They are aware that with all the controversy about child abuse they are at some stage going to lose their tax exemption rights or pay out large sums of money to the authorities/victims. They are hiding it in off shore accounts under different titles so they cannot give what they don't have. "We would pay but we cant cause we don't have the money, it's not ours". It's quite simple to see when you realise that they are a money making business. It's got F...k all to do with God, he's nothing more to them but camouflage to hide what's really going down.

Revelation - it's grand climax is at hand
by Listener insome people point out the subliminal pictures in the wtbts publications but sometimes things are just so obvious, such as the title of the book above.. the person who came up with the title for this book must have had a good old laugh.. interestingly, this book first came out in 1988 and has not been included in the online library but nothing has replaced it.
the org is really going backwards when they ditch old light and cannot come up with anything new.
