May I rant please

not sure if it is the big 40 approaching or just a general disgust of the world but i find myself very angry of late.

mostly due to the crap in the world around us.

i am sick of hearing on the news that people have killed their family, friends or strangers.

Anyone who sexually abuses a child should spend the rest of their lives in prison doing hard labor...period.

What really chapped my ass was that assistant pastor jerk saying "The bible says we should forgive so his is forgiven.' WHy were they abused, was his innocence stripped from him by a trusted person NO . If the victim wants to fine but for someone of the church to say that without discussing it with the victims makes me ill

Why can't these fools realize that if you want to forgive, fine. If you feel that your faith requires forgiveness fine. But that does not mean that they don't have to pay the penalty. I am sure that there are some people on this earth who have done terrible things in their past, but still merit forgiveness from God.....but justice for everyone else still has to be satisfied.

These clergyman who want to flap about forgiveness need to shut their pie hole and leave forgiveness up to the victim and the creator.

Forgiveness does not mean that nothing ever happened.

Sheila - I sympathize...hang in there maybe everything will be straitened out by your 50th.

i was watching cnn when i was in mexico and they had a very interesting question to the viewers so i was wondering what your answer would be?.

since no weapons of mass destruction have not been found should blair and bush be tried in a world court for the actions and be held responsible for all the killing?.

THIS WAR was a continuation of the first war...Saddam was in violation of a ceasefire agreement he signed with THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...not the UN.

Yeru, this is probably your most legitimate point. But we still used a 20 ton bomb to kill a fly. Besides, you are taking a legalistic point of view which all sides can beat to death.

I try to ask the question: What was the best way for the US ( considering our best interests and those of our allies { which incidentally are interwined} to handle Saddam?) What was the best way?

We failed my friend, we chose the last option when there were many others on the table.

Now I realize that you could debate that point with me, but I think it may boil down to a fundemental philisophical difference in the way people view the world in which we live.

Ultimately though, you must admit, the Bush administration will have to answer for some intelligence failures if real and whole WMDs are not found.

The UN SECURITY COUNCIL BE DAMNED

And that attitude does not do well for our stature in the world. But once again that is only an issue if you give a damn about our stature in the world community.........something tells me that you do not. Do we understand each other?

They just found some old buried chemical warheads..... the fact is that Saddam did use them in the past. There is no denying that fact

And anyway Saddam did use WMD on the Kurds -- so the question is irrelevant

Uhhh that was like 13- 14 years ago so it is relevent. The question is about WMDs in the present. (Hard tangible evidence that would be provable in a world court of which I would welcome but by all accounts has yet to surface. Not anecdotal, but concrete.) LC

gosh, i never thought i would listen to this guy but i have just purchased his cd.

there are only one or two songs i raise my eyebrows to and then switch the song.

i came across this cd from my friend down the street who listens to him (her brother works for his band) and we were driving somewhere, correction, she was driving and said, "my car, my music" and then introduced me to some of the songs.

Folks, I am as passionate about my politics as anyone. I try to remember, wether I agree with someone's politics or not, to be respectful. I don't always succeed but I try. Name calling sucks, but so does attitudes and stereotyping (Liberals are ruining America......Conservatives are trampling on our civil liberties).

Sometimes a tone can be much more insulting than a name. Some people on this board I believe to be idealogs with an agenda. Others want to genuinely, and honestly discuss opinions on politics. Then there are those who just regurgitate propaganda and have no interest in finding the truth and forming there opinions on that truth.

You cast doubt on your credibillity when you accuse and reprimand folks for something and then turn around and engage in that same activity.....can we see any of that on this thread, I think so.

People honestly, if there were room for only one opinion, one philosophy, one platform, would we have freedom?

Would it be a great thing for any free society for the members to agree on everything? More importantly, would that society really be free or a sham?

when i read wt literature, i constantly find myself astounded by how transparently cultish the language is.

in an earlier, unrelated thread, i said the following: .

Watchtower study conductor: "Yes we have a comment from sister Busybody..."

Sister Busybody: "We can certainly appreciate the appreciation shown by our appreciative brothers...."

His songs are good but his voice is seriously manipulated electronically in studio.

He knows how to rock...he just doesn't sing very well IMO. The voice you hear on the CD is hardly him. Check him out live ( even in concert they lay the effects on thick, but they're not able to work the same magic.)

Even so I can still rock out to the music.I just get tired of hearing that constant effect on his voice.

I just felt like an emoticon should go here and I hadn't used pizza yet.......

Women in Workforce/Glass ceilings/my mentor

my finace recently started work at a wage which will take me years to reach even though our qualifications will be about the same.

many women have claimed that the glass ceiling exists and that women are paid less for the same jobs that men do.. what reasons explain this in your mind?

is it because women might have children?

No glass ceilings in a union shop. If you can do the job, you get the rate..and a damn good one I might add.

Stacey, did you ever see Norma Rae ?

Your dead right, it is unfair, but it used to be even worse. My hope is that the gap will continue to shrink and that women will unify and use their majority of votes to elect a qualified female President.....Hillary?....Condee? I think it will happen sooner than many think.
