Yes, the R&F are treated badly. I personally know of two people who died due to suicide..........really desperate....so sad.
Considering that we are "The most joyful people on earth" it is truly amazing just how many are actually either depressed, or just feeling so low that they just leave the organization. I personally feel much Happier now that I've left.......hmmm I wonder why?

it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .

That's just how I felt! I barely ever read a novel.....I have just started to read more lately.......it's so therapeutic.
The guilt, and feelings of being unworthy are the pits. I am so glad to leave this behind, ones own self esteem is very, very important. If you like yourself then others will too! (so says my sister)

I am very interested to know how everyone that's in it now, might really be feeling. My own observation is that face's tend to look strained, tired, intense, disappointed......I have not observed that "Kingdom Smile" in a long time.

i read a couple of books on cults.
they all claim that cults use sleep deprivation to burn their members out, to make them more vulnerable to mind control.. lots of jehovahs witnesses are janitors, working nights and go out in service during the days.
it seems to be the case here in canada and if i recall it correctly from your posts it is so in the usa too.. i was just wondering if jws were encouraged by the watchtower to bee janitors.
Here in the UK it's Window technician's and Janitors. It truly amazes me to hear the different life stories from so many of the posters here,the far-reaching impact which the borg. has had on peoples lives, is sad, and sadder still,that it is still doing so.
I have just driven past an still-JW who pretended yet again not to see me, he has two very intelligent daughters that could be anything they want to be..........they are nicely 'hemmed in' ..........for now.
