  Kids and meetings

  i remember when they would discourage kids from taking colors or coloring books to the meetings.

  so i thought ok, i will give my kid a pen and my book of bible stories to keep him busy.

  then they said that was a bad idea because he might write on the furniture and it wasnt good to teach them to write on the wbt publications.

  My blood boils just thinking about this particular subject...It was one of the things that got me thinking....Hmmmmm.........something seems to be very wrong here!!!

  Me too! Seeing the little kids being dragged out late on a midweek meeting night, made me so frustrated. My kids always came to the meetings armed with pillows to sleep on?and any soft toys they wanted. Having my own children really brought it all home to me just what was going on regarding the little ones.

  We left?..and it is one one of the best thing?s we?ve ever done!

  You are damaging your kids by taking them to meeting?s. You are holding them back in life. You are setting them up in life to have few friends - after all there really aren?t many left in the KH. People are leaving!!! My own kids now have lot?s of lovely friends - they had NONE whilst we attended. (I?m dead serious about this)

  i,m new to the site, my friend mouthy and i have knowen each for 37 years we lived in montreal ,now in ontario.i was a weak jw and she was sent to me to make me a strong one,i don,t know that it work, but we are good friends.and she is still helping me ,to get on this line.

  i met some of you last week end at swiss chalet,hi gang.

  Your story is quite moving! I am so glad that you and your family have made it OUT

  I too remember the 'Paradise Bk' with it's aweful pictures of death.

  Having our children made my hubby & I leave also, we realized that we didn't want them to have the terrible fear which this cult instills in it's members.

  So very pleased that you are now getting to enjoy knowing your father!

  this is the one with the "why i believe the bible, a nuclear scientist reports" article in it by alton williams.

  "Millions Now Living May Never Die"?

  "millions now living may never die"

  that is how the september 1,1989, watchtower refers to the 1918 lectures (p.13).

  although the society's watchtower publications index: 1930-1985 makes dozens of references to the book and lectures as ..."will never die" i could not find a single reference to millions now living may never die.

  How dare they feel that it was OK to say such thing's - dragging God's name along with it...!

  How can any active JW stand by any of what was said around this time???

  millions now living.... "judge" joseph rutherford's prediction for the resurrection and a house called "beth-sarim".

  joseph rutherford (1869-1942) was the second president of the watchtower bible and tract society.

  Rutherford had even given an interview to the San Diego Sun in 1930, where he described how he was going to identify the various patriarchs when they showed up at the estate.

  Surely this article would be archived?..would love to verify this.

  Where did this article originate from? It is very well balanced - would love to know.

  Poor 'ol you! You should of woke Simon up ....there again it was almost impossible to wake my hubby up at those times - they go into that deep sleep where they hear absolutely nothing - no matter how loud it is!..... don't they?

  My recommendation would be to have a nice glass of wine after lunch, and then sneak off for a little kip
