good topic.
Apparently, we've all returned to our own vomit.
i know you are sick of that phrase by now....because jdubs use it all the time when referring to 'apostates'.
they come on this forum or (people you know) generalize 'apostates' as though we are of different class...that we are no longer human.
they are obviously fed these little tid-bits about 'apostates' from the society since i am sure they don't personally know many.
good topic.
Apparently, we've all returned to our own vomit.
at the last assembly, the circuit overseer made the comment, "people should not look for justice within the congregation.
instead, people should do what is necessary to keep the peace within the congregation.".
what is that suppose to mean?
"People should not look for justice within the congregation
It means, don't waste your time. There is no justice in Jehovah's "ecclesiatical" court.

serena soaks up the pressure
people are used to seeing us all serious on court.".
i love wimbledon.
I *KNEW* that I knew that Terrence Howard dude! SHUT UP! He is not a JW!
What gets me about the whole Serena thing, I wonder hwo she would be faring if she was not lucky enough to have a worldly dad who insisted on those girls doing something other than sell magazines.
Those two don't even know what it means to be Jehovah's Witness kids, really.
it seems like such a short while ago i came on here, the unashamed wife of a jw, looking for information.
looking for support.
you all gave it and more.
And what you've added in four years is immeasurable.
You're truly a pleasure to read.
tick, tick, tick.. the governing body is dying one by one, faster now.. young people who thought they would never see themselves getting old now take meds for cholesterol, alzheimers, diabetes, blood pressure.. the end isn't here.. tick, tick, tick.. kids who walked away from the wt after being warned that they would die like a dog in the streets instead are very successful young people with real jobs, families, and assets.. empty threats stop having an effect.
apathy sets in.
automatons attend the meetings.
Somebody (I think it may have been Leolaia) remarked in another thread that current JW doctrine is crafted around the immediate post-war era and it was at that point when it was the most "believable." Today, all the things that weren't supposed to happen, are happening (As you point out) and all the things that were supposed to happen, aren't.
RE: Leolaia's post, this is self-evident in their words of choice. "The Society" how freaking Orwellian does *that* sound?
this one really freaked me out.
i was so brainwashed at the time i found a way to justify it.
i think i?ve been repressing my anger about this and now i need to vent.
I think it was about a year later....they were driving to the circuit assembly and were in an accident. They showed up at the assembly, and everyone was fine. Except their little 2 year old had died in the crash!
ice blood in my veins!
Beep Beep now you are just being an asshole. BOTH events that you spoke about no doubt had HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS in attendance. Hell I have been to high school football games with 3,000+ in attendance.
Contrast that with the now infamous JR BROWN interview in which he eloquently states "the congregations are kept small so we can keep an eye on people." Yeah small enough to be the morality police but not small enough to care!
We are talking about a room with fewer than 150 people in it, that would certainly be disrupted by someone collapsing....but no matter, wheel them out. The show must go on!
check out this pdf.
in perticular, the customer list.

Well this is ok, but I better not catch you swimming in that damn YMCA pool!
.
how would you like to have in your possession all of the boe letters in a text-searchable pdf format?.
if you do, i think i heard through the grapevine that they will be appearing on reexamine.org sometime tonight.. we're talking upwards of 500 pages altogether.. chew on that wt.
L O FREAKING L
i for a while discounted the reports that suggested there were stern warnings against bringing in outside food and drink into the conventions.
but this email exchange from a few of my relatives concerning tim horton's coffee, which is a basic staple for the dub ministry in canada, shows that they don't mind adding any more regulations to their already extensive list!
(so far, i'm still on their email list) .
I can't see their motives for banning external food and drink unless it is economic, apparently they don't want to lose on the profits they make from food sales.
Yep. Sensei Scully is right. I posted on another thread about the way the vendor arrangements work--
It wouldn't actually cost the "Society" another penny to have the Concessions Vendor open and sell food. When concessioners open for an event, they stay open during the whole event.
Could you imagine the WT trying to dictate that they only sell food at a certain time of day? No one would even be in their freaking seat, what with going to buy low quality nachos and what not.
What it would do is take the attention off of the 'rich spiritual food' that is being served.
