St Ann,
I reversed the situation of your children. I thought you had one special needs child.
I would say my special needs children, who may be RELATIVELY happy, are happier than my normal son and I are because they have not been raped by the WTS. Isn't everyone only RELATIVELY happy, relative to their situation in life?
Of course, however you must acknowledge that the is a greater possibility of acheivement of normalcy in children who are not special needs.
Look, I'm not trying to beat anyone up over their personal choice. Yes I believe that if the mother and father are over the age of 40, serious concern should be given to the what ifs?
When I was 16 one of my mothers friends (JW) got pregnant. She was 48. All we heard about for weeks was Miriam crying her eyes out. She finally spontaneously miscarried. The baby had only a head and one arm and a torso, and she had hydrocephaly. She knew this. She did not get an abortion for obvious reasons. Everyone thought Jehovah delivered her from having that child. Praise Jehovah! What a hateful god.
The human body is not perfect. I have two children and my choice would be not to parent a child that I knew for a fact was significantly handicapped. ooohhh I know I'm the only heartless female that will admit that. I don't wait for Sky Daddy to 'bless' me with children. I know how babies are made, and I know how to MINIMIZE....not eliminate....the possibility that I will be a lifelong caregiver for a child with significant abnormalities.
That's not what I want. Personal Choice. All children are parasitic in nature, feeding off of host parents for years. I just want a definitive end to that. I am entitled to my life too!
I sure as hell don't want some Sarah Palin telling me what to do.
However, given the number of babies who've been killed by abortion these past 30+ years since Roe V. Wade and the current war on the disabled, science has actually helped people to hone their animalistic tendencies and squelch their humanity, all in the name of "progress."
The number of LIVING babies subjected to abuse, neglect, and the foster care system all so you bloodguilty God can feed his followers a diet of denial far outweigh the animalistic tendencies of women who RESPONSIBLY seek to end pregnancy.
No I have never done it, but if I (we) felt the need to go forward, I would not miss a beat. I've given enough of my life to deprival and dysfunction. I'm going to enjoy what's left.

VOTE YOUR "SILVER BULLET" QUESTION
by V ini'm quizzing all my sources for the ultimate "silver-bullet" question for a jw at your door.
the best questions will be used in a video series on watchtower comments.
the goal is to help people respond to jws.. the question must be direct and designed to open the jw mind, not necessarily to win an argument.. i would prefer to avoid doctrinal debate such as trinity, cross, even thiest/athiest subjects.

Does Jehovah only want old dehydrated white men to lead his church?
How is it possible for the Governing Body, who never had families, to tell you what is ok for your family to do?
What things does your CHRISTIAN CONSCIENCE allow you to do? Vote? Celebrate birthdays? Holidays? Anything that goes against the WBTS teachings? So you have no Christian freedom? You have unity of belief, do you?
So, if every does exactly the same things in lock step, where does anyone get to use their Christian Conscience that Jesus promised you would have?

FHM That is the worst kind of propoganda!
No one is talking about murdering children or adults.
We are talking about making responsible, well-informed reproductive decisions.
How you make the leap of logic to eugenics is beyond me.

Hurtful and mean?!?!?
St Ann, you made the comment that your handicapped child is the happiest because he wasn't manipulated by the JWs .....
My point, which went right over your head, is that only makes that child RELATIVELY happy. Your two 'normal' children, who according to you are not doing well because of JW issues, well they can take therapy that will HELP them with that issue to live a normal and full life. That is not a possibility for your handicapped child. That was my point...not to be hurtful or mean.
Mrs. Jones, I have many women friends who were surprised with pregnancies well into their 40's. We know now those are HIGH RISK PREGNANCIES, period. You did make a choice to continue the pregnancy and that was your right. No one knows what tomorrow brings, just maybe one of my children might have a horrible disease. We started this out by talking about why a family would keep spinning the roulette wheel when they have disabled children already. The only reason I even slightly would have been referring to you is that you had a hig risk pregnancy. That's it.
To ME personally, I would never do that.
I think science has brought us far enough that we are not animals, we do have reproductive rights and responsibilities as humans in 2008. We are not baby breeding machines.

When we married we wanted a larger than average family. When each baby came we felt there was still one more little child waiting in Heaven to be a part of our family. After Mary that feeling was gone and we felt complete as a family. We didn't know something was going on until after the last baby, Mary, was almost a year old. Also, we did not have an official diagnosis for all the children until November of 2006.
In February 2007 we watched an episode of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition”, we enjoy it as a family to see if the family's story is as tough as our own. The show said that the family, they helped build a new home for, had the most documented Autistic children, five, for one family in the United States. My wife and I looked at each other, we have SIX documented Autistic children. It looks like WE have the most in the country, who knows maybe the world, isn't THAT special?!
The 3 youngest are still in diapers and the 4 and 6 year old are completely non-verbal, they are also our biters (chomp!). We have to put them in backward one piece outfits to keep them from stripping and smearing their poop everywhere. Our 4 year old climbs on, breaks and rips EVERYTHING. His nickname we've given him is “Ammon the Destroyer” (like Conan the Destroyer).
Each day is a challenge, something happens EVERY day. It was recommended that my wife be evaluated. She found out she is borderline clinical depression and has generalized anxiety disorder (we weren't too surprised about that one). We also believe she has fibromyalgia as she has those symptoms too. She is taking Prozac to help her through each day.
We're trying hard to be the best parents our children need. Unfortunately our lack of space (1100 sq. ft. 3 bed, 1 bath, no basement) at home and our finances make it a bit difficult. Our 3 and 4 year olds go to a preschool for Autistic children. The 6, 9 and 10 year olds have an IEP in place for them at their elementary school. The 14 year olds situation is similar at his Jr. High school.
We feel we should be doing more but we're just not sure of what and where to get more help and how to do it all. Last Fall John was no longer able to maintain a job outside the home. "They were just tired on all the time I had to be away from work". John came up with the ideas for this website that is a place where we hope to help other parents of Autistic children and hopefully earn a small income. The progress is slow. But by the grace of God we are hanging in there and hope that our example can help other Autistic parents.

Now imagine that all 6 of those children are autistic.
Tune in Wednesday, October 1, for Autism X 6.In this one-hour special, we'll explore the everyday reality of John and Robin Kirton and their children — who range from 3 to 14. The Kirtons may well have the largest of autistic children in a family ever in history.
Logistics and problem-solving on a daily basis are daunting tasks. On any typical afternoon when all six Kirton kids are home, life can spin out of control in a millisecond. Turn your back, and anything can happen. Aamon is likely to climb up on a high bureau and teeter atop it while he tests how far it will rock before it falls over. Meanwhile, Sarah might be tearing at the walls; Nephi and Emma are fighting over computer time and both melting down. Little Mary has gotten into the garlic powder, and Bobby's trying to fix everything by constantly cleaning.
We are going to get inside the experience of this family and live with each of them. We'll go to autism school where Aamon, Mary and Sarah get intense, in-your-face, behavioral training. We'll see what it's like for Bobby, who goes to regular school but has never really fit in. We'll see what happens when the parents try to take this unruly brood to a restaurant. And we'll be in the room when John and Robin have to face up to the results of having their kids evaluated.
In the end, we'll have seen struggle, learned a lot about autism and, above all, witnessed the strength of a family bond against staggering obstacles.
So let's all sit around and watch other's misery and bad fortune in the name of entertainment....

There is NO scientific link between autism and immunizations.
And while Mrs Jones is right, there is no guaranteed predictor....
I have a first cousin, she has three children. Her first two are on the spectrum but her last is not. She could have stopped at two but those first two didn't predict her having a normal third.
I'm not a gambling woman. Me, personally.
And I saw that preview. The woman was sitting on the floor crying while mayhem happened all around her. I'm sorry, that's not my vision of a peaceful family home.

Call me a cynic, but a man who believes his wife is ready any second now, to turn him in to the Gestapo, well, she can only be seduced by the WBTS.
I have seen this phenomenon before, women who claim to be 'satisfied' by their relationship with God (or his followers). For them, the rigid structure of the WBTS is all they need for emotional security.
And if you are just waiting until NOW to treat your wife romatically, believe me, she'll see through it.
