i'm talking several presidents (present & past) college educated people, newscasters, etc.
do they not realize how ignorant they sound because the can not pronounce the word correctly??

one issue i've been pondering is the life of the unborn.
this has been brought on by a couple of things.. sam harris in end of faith and letter to a christian nation discusses the moral implications of stem cell research and this has been discussed in the media lately too.

I love this term "inactive".
It means you are not up off your butt and going to meetings, assembiles, and selling magazines. You are not ACTIVE.
This is the only criteria. It does not address whether you are moral, solvent, sick or well, nice to other people, a good family member, a contributor to the community, working a job that helps mankind in some way, or anything else in normal human endeavor.
In other words - all that matters is that you are ACTIVE.

Bush Administration Launches "Hope for Homeowners" Program
by SixofNine inthe hope for homeowners program was authorized by the economic and housing recovery act of 2008. since the president signed this vital legislation into law on july 30, 2008, the hope for homeowners board of directors has worked diligently to develop and implement the program as directed by congress.
the board was charged with establishing underwriting standards to ensure borrowers, after any write-down in principal, have a reasonable ability to repay their new fha-insured mortgage.
the hope for homeowners program begins today and ends september 30, 2011. the program is available only to owner occupants and will offer 30-year fixed rate mortgages - so the borrower's last payment will be the same as the first payment.

To all my friends
by mouthy inhello folks.... many of you have asked me to be friends on facebook.
i think you should know ,i cant seem to work that right.
this one i am at "home" with ,but it is very hard to teach old dogs new tricks, so if you have invited me to be a friend of yours on facebook & i have not accepted you just remember at 81 it is hard learning new things.

Autism Times six.. on discovery health

they have 6 children and apparently all 6 of the children have autism.
i was doing some reading about this family.. its very sad.

Why don't you share your views with them on their joyous day and see if you are still invited.
I already have. When she told me she and her husband were devastated with the diagnosis....they had elected no genetic testing because they are Catholic. I told her that while I respect her religious views, my husband and I decided that we would not have continued with the pregnancy with such a diagnosis. She said, 'I understand.'
and YES you are behaving like a martyr. No mother jumps for joy when she is told that her child will have significant physical or mental disabilities. Were you happy when you heard about it? Please be honest with the answer.
Of course not. You made a decision to be the best parent you could be when you found out, which is the same thing almost anyone would do in your situation. But don't tell me you didn't cry when you received the news. Anything less is dishonorable and emotionally fraudulent.

I can see that you simply don't understand because you continue to refer to your "down's syndrome friend" when in fact it's a child with a name and a gender. Our buddy walk is this coming weekend and it's people like you who should stay away. We don't need your hatred or ignorance.
I actually said her name was Emily. I thought you could extrapolate that as her being a female. Yeah, oh and um, I was invited as the guest of honor to the Buddy Walk. Sorry I won't be staying away.
Accept your own limitations for love and acceptance. Don't project them on my child and don't refer to her as a Down syndrome child.

No one was talking about YOUR child. This thread started out talking about a family who needs money, so they are pimping out their 6 autistic children on Discovery. I said, they obviously don't believe in abortion. Go back and look at the thread. That's when the religious right-wingers started talking about "beethoven" and blah blah blah.
Popping out babies, healthy or not, does not define me as a human being. It's not an 'accomplishment' in and of itself. Any woman who is old enough to get her period can have a baby. The accomplishment comes when you have introduced a balanced human being with talents, goals, and ethics into the world and that human being is now an adult. So just making a baby with a chromosomal disorder doesn't make you a special human being that everyone else should fawn over, like you obviously believe they all should.
