We had a sister who tried to commit suicide. Visited her in the hospital . No one ever held her accountable. Is now an elder's wife.

What activity or dream did you put off till the New System?
by nochoice inafter reading the thread about jw kids getting gifts all year and not needing christmas, i thought about how i was told there would be plenty of toys in the new system.
i was told that on my birthday too.
and now i started thinking about all the things i justified suffering growing up as a kid, and then a teenager, and then an adult, because it would be better in the new system.

I noticed that over the years, the ones that returned from Bethel service rarely spoke openly of their experience. Like soldiers returning from combat, they kept alot to themselves. The few I knew that took a stand were, of course, "purged". It didn't dawn on me & I'm sure it doesn't dawn on the R&F today that things aren't all that peachy at the compound. I'm impressed by the list of exBethelites though not suprised.

I confess I liked speaking publicly. I was used on circuit & district parts. Also worked the stage. Got to meet everyone. I marvel at you guys still in servant positions. I understand the rock & hard place you find yourselves at. As for me, after wasting 50 yrs. of my life, I couldn't bear to waste another second. For all of us: Live Well....Enjoy Life.

Duval St. in Old Key West is where all the tourist action takes place. If you want accomodations in the middle of the action, try the Pegasus on Duval. The Southernmost at the end of Duval is a little quieter. There are a number of other hotels not in Old Key West that are a better bargain. Your pilgrimage should include Sloppy Joe's, the Hogs Breath, Ricks & Captain Tonys. Captain Tony's is wall papered in business cards. I got several stapled there. Don't forget conch chowder & Key Lime Pie. If you collect art, don't forget a water color. The sunset at Mallory Pier is must. Great acts preceeding sunset. Scooters are cheap & a great way to see the island. If you are a biker, you can fly into Miami, rent a Harley for about $700 a week & take Highway 1 to Key West. The 126 miles from Key Largo to Key West is a must do run for all bikers. Take your picture at the southernmost tip of the island. Good vacation; hope you go.

Peter was most likely trying to cut his head off. The guy turned his head in time to only lose an ear. As Jesus had no problem with the Apostles carrying personal weapons nor with defending yourself, the WBTS sanctions against the same are baseless. Here in NY we all carry weapons. I personally carry a 7.65 MM Beretta. Welcome to NY; try not to piss us off.
