I now enjoy going up to those still in & in public say "Hi". I make sure I say it loud enough to attract the attention of people around me. Just watching them look at their feet & skulk away in front of others is so entertaining. Try it. It becomes very enpowering. We're not the ones who have anything to feel ashamed of, they are. I want them to feel the way they made me feel for years. Self righteous, hypocritical, arrogant gasbags. Just another false religion.

The imperfections of the elder
by outsmartthesystem inoutsmart - you keep mentioning the imperfections of the elders....and how people need to overlook them because we are all imperfect and we need to learn what true humility is.....etc etc.
dj - if this is what you believe to be true, then you are mistaken, because even though jehovah's witnesses are directed by holy spirit, we have at times 'gotten it wrong.
dj - i can agree that jehovah's witnesses are god's mouthpiece today, that we do speak for god.

Interesting discussion DJ. For the record, I was a witness for 50 yrs. My father-in-law, born in the 1890's was of the anointed & personally was recommended by Rutherford. I was an elder for 15 yrs, gave district assembly parts & was on countless building projects. So I am quite familiar with the doctrine. You spin an interesting yarn, but in the end the the arguement of the GB being guided by Holy Spirit & still making serious doctrinal errors is a fatal flaw in their thinking. If guided by Holy Spirit, who do you hold responsible for the errors? If contrived my man, why follow them blindly? What happened to the law of love in regard to destroying countless number of lives while crying wolf for a century. How about the "Millions now Living Will Never Die"? Would Holy Spirit direct the GB to pen such a lie? Where's the public heartfelt apologies for the mistakes if they're human. Sorry DJ, they actually mirror the scribes & pharisees that Jesus so roundly condemned. You & the rest of the GC are the flock "skinned & thrown about". I too was as you are today. I know this will not affect your thinking in the least. It would not have me change my belief either. So for you, the rest of the GC & everyone reading I say: Live Well...Enjoy Life. ( Oh, by the way, the generation you think you're living in has not arrived yet.)

2011 District Convention "Let Us Be Bored and Confused Into Obedience"
by ranmac inthis has already been discussed but i need to vent.. i just spent the most painful weekend of my life sitting thru this years dc.
what an unbelievably pointless, soulless and demeaning spectacle the assemblies are.
the three days were a blur of monotanous droning and brainwashing.

I rode past the DC in Rochester, NY on the Harley. It was a beautiful day to be out. Outside on the bike & out of such a stifling, corrupt organization that parades itself around as the "true servant of God". What a monumental waste of a beautiful weekend.

Help Please. Mother says she can prove I will die using the bible alone, no WT literature
by scooterspank inshe says she can prove i will die if i'm not in the "truth" strictly using the bible .

Have your mother first provide proof that she even has " the truth". Without proof that her religion has exclusive rights to love, unity & fulfillment of prophesy she can't honestly prove anything else.

Growing up a Jehovah's Witness - New Video
by jwfacts ini have put together a video - growing up a jehovah's witness 1960 -2010. it aims to show the things a witnesses would be taught as they age over those decades.
it is 15 minutes long.
this is my first attempt at a video and it took a while to work out how to use final cut, so please feel free to make suggestions if anything should be changed.

Nice job Paul. Enjoyed the accent. I thought living with us New Yorkers would have eliminated that. Evidently the brainwashing has failed again.

Surprised reaction
by truthseeker1969 inmy brother who attends meetings was at the hall when they were explaining the "generation" new lite.. he said he was stunned when a rumble went through the congo which he said sounded like "oh here we go again" and then laughing.. the brother sittig next to him said 'what next" and after the meeting a lot of people were mad that instead of leaving what they do not know they re-invented it.. elders were being surrounded by people asking them to explain it.. this happened a few weeks ago but there is also alot of anger at the "mentally diseased " comment made by the gb as people view it as an outright attack on family members.
i think i smell trouble.. he is not one who shuns and told the elders that until they show him where jesus said shun then he will continue to talk to me.. one elder told him that if he persists in talking to me then he could be brought before a committe to which he told him "it would be your funeral".
so me thinks they are truly in a panic!.

At some point many Witnesses will come to the conclusion that this organization doesn't have "the truth". There's a vast difference between being mostly true and true. It's like the difference between mostly dead & dead. (Apologizes to Billy Crystal as Miracle Max). I hope this awakening in the UK spreads. It's about time for this sad charade to end.

Disfellowshipped a threat?
by truthseeker1969 insooooooooooooooooooooo would i be right in assuming that the sitting at the back of the hall, no contact, no answering mean that the spirituality of the congregation is not that strong?.
to me it would seem that elders are scared that a disfellowshipped person is more strong in reasoning and knowledge than the rank and file of the congregation.. i wonder how many elders are "infected" by the disfellowshipped person but are so caught up in being an under lord they just carry on?
i wonder how many within the congreation are sick of elders throwing people out for free thinking?.

I get stronger every day I'm out of the borg. I no longer have that down cast look as others still in pass by. I talk to them all. It's ironic; now they have the down cast look. I just got out of my pool with my wife on a sunny NY day. Everyone else is sitting in a district assembly in Rochester, NY. Too bad. I'll be thinking of them as the wife & I take a ride on the Harley this afternoon. If your reading this & your in Circuit 7A/B; enjoy your afternoon at the assembly. I'll have a bloody mary for you.

How do you explain anointed people who are very humble and loving?
by bottleofwater inwhile some of you can bash the anointed as being attention getters:.
i knew someone in florida who was also of the anointed, supposedly.
she was very kind as well and very quiet and humble.

My father-in-law was of the "anointed" & was a indeed a kind, humble individual. But so were many others I met throughout 50 yrs. in the WBTS. You meet alot of these people in the WBTS because it draws such people.
