I live in upstate NY & get to witness the Mormon cult close up. They have an annual pageant to commemorate Jesus' interaction with American Indians. They have a golden statue of the angel Moroni on top of the hill. At the local gas station they have a tent set up with free literature. The pageant is at least entertaining. The GB should incorporate something like that at the assemblies.

I had a young brother & his wife over to the house & had the sheet music to Led Zeppelin' s "Stairway to Heaven" out on the piano. He about had a coronary. His wife was embarrassed & calmed him down somewhat. I was an elder at the time & nothing ever came of it. I recently bought a genuine NAZI letter opener I found in a flea market. I keep it in my desk near my computer so please don't touch this post if you want to stay free of Satanic influence. -

I know it amounts to heresy, but I'm going to say it anyway. I don't believe every thing I learned as a JW was wrong. I know too I will die. (A real shock) I run all my current beliefs against whether or not it makes sense to me. A resurrection & life in Paradise? Yeah, I can agree with that. And if I'm wrong? It won't really matter, will it? So I'm going to finish out my life with that prospect. To that end; Live Well....Enjoy Life !

How do you feel when you see the Witnesses in the door to door work? Angry, Sad, or dumbfounded?

I have the best time running into Witnesses door to door. I was at my wife's uncle's home in Philly when I saw them working the street. Two brothers, one in his forties & one in his twenties came to talk to me. I told them I knew of their religion and had a few things I didn't understand. Had a great time with the older guy trying to defend 1914, their definition of a generation, the street work, etc. The older man was oblivious to losing every point, but the younger man was not. I hope I planted some seeds of doubt & that he gets out while young. If you get the chance, use it to free someone. View it as your moral responsibility. -

Hi John; I had a similar story. Father-in-law knew Rutherford personally. In laws were the JW elite. I was the hired hand. Married their daughter in 75 during "the scare." Just looking to survive; figured I'd learn to love her in Paradise just around the corner. Stayed with her 34 years. Finally found the love of my life & divorced her. I was trying to get back in but one of the elders told me outright that they needed to make an example out of me. I got pissed & read through C of C in two days. That was enough for me. Never looked back. Been out 8 yrs. I have a wonderful life. You will too. -

I think the slow death route is more likely. People who are apathetic are less likely to part with their hard earned cash and cash is what this cult runs on. Unfortunately they have plenty of that currently. I give them another 10 yrs. -
